+40 Why would I trust a toothpaste that was recommended by 8 out of 10 dentists? Recommending a good toothpaste would be bad for their business. amirite?

Maybe they recommend it because it genuinely helps prevent issues, leading to long-term trust and patient retention.

The Hippocratic Oath. Do dentists take that?

It's a pretty cool concept called benefitting society or having values other than making as much money as possible

You should ask the dentist's wife

They don't want to do work on people with rotting teeth

I'd say either it's not true and that 8 out of 10 is just a number, or said dentists got money to sponsor the toothpaste

I get the skepticism, but I think most dentists actually do want people to have healthy teeth. Recommending a decent toothpaste helps prevent bigger (and more expensive) problems down the line, which most would rather help you avoid than fix later. Not every profession is out to milk you.

good thing all decent toothpates are pretty much the same and doctors don't get paid to ruin your teeth

I'm more interested in why the two dentists didn't recommend it

You people do realize you're supposed to go see the dentist regularly and have professional cleanings, even if you have no issues, right?
