Why do we have to accept the premise that the oldest event is the greatest. British open (golf is the same age ) , Wimbledon is since 1877 , the America's cup (sailing / 1848)

The F.A Cup predates the Kentucky Derby BTW. Also, Preston North End have never played in the "Premier League" It wasn't formed until 100+ years after they won the inaugural season in English League Football(1888/89 season)
