+1,548 Spaghetti is the worst pasta shape by A LOT, amirite?

by Anonymous 1 month ago

They're all fine, if your sauce is thick enough. But spaghetti won't stick to itself like flat ribbon shapes do. But the main reason I'm here, I have to ask: What does spaghetti have to do with casserole?

You don't want to know

I can agree with this and al dente penne or rigatoni is the bomb

by Glad_Butterfly8090 1 month ago

Penne is the vanilla ice cream of pasta

by Anonymous 1 month ago

That's why you use a spoon to twirl the spaghetti with your fork and pick up the sauce.

by Anonymous 1 month ago

Nah. OP is right. Spaghetti is the cattle of pasta.

Or just use the side of the bowl like you're supposed to

For a child yea

Spaghetti has no surfaces for any sauce to grip too. It's just so boring

by Marksjosiah 1 month ago

I've seen spaghetti noodles in a casserole one time, and it was for spaghetti casserole. The standard casserole noodle is elbow. Penne is also very common.

Farfalle>Fusilli. Great with sauces of all kind, due to the twist in their middle, you get a very enjoyable bite. Tagliatelle and Fettuccine are superior, Spaghetti have a romantic childhood nostalgia around them, it takes some years and practise to handle them without dividing them, it gets messy and that's fun.

My grandfather sort of ruined my interest in spaghetti. It's not his fault a tumor messed up his throat and made it hard to swallow, but just thinking of overcooked spaghetti ruins my appetite. They seem to be good for that purpose though.

well if you don't like the lack of surface area of spaghetti, you'll hate capellini, aka angle hair

Dan Pashman is that you?

I like the texture of spaghetti eith marinara or bolonase. All pasta shapes have their place to shine.

I consume the hair of angels, blessed into thine bowl. Dost thou wish fair holy communion layeth upon thine lips?

Bucatini is worse. Brutally difficult to eat.

100% truth

I'm so done with spaghetti too. It's like eating a limp noodle that's just sliding all over your plate. And forget about getting any sauce on it, by the time you manage to get some on, it's already gone. Give me a hearty helping of fettuccine or pappardelle any day. At least those suckers can hold onto the good stuff

Pasta in casserole? What?

by Anonymous 1 month ago

Farfalle is the worst shape at a fundamental architectural level.

Have fun with your soggy ass butterflies

by Noehoeger 1 month ago

So you admit you don't know how to cook

by Anonymous 1 month ago

They're structurally flawed: the thin edges of the wings will always be overcooked before the thick "pinch" in the middle is ready

by Noehoeger 1 month ago

Yea thats kinda the point 👉

There's just nothing to chomp down on.

Hard agree. Spaghetti is the worst pasta shape.

by Anonymous 1 month ago

Only children eat spaghetti.

by Anonymous 1 month ago

Agreed. My favorite "spaghetti and meatballs" meal pasta to use, is spiral pasta. 😃
