Brain Drain by the U.S. isn't working that well, amirite?

Ummmmm that seems like a problem specific to your workspace / the people around you. I feel like at least 60% of jobs in general can't be delegated to a rando online anyway (making that number up but seems reasonable?).

I've been in the workplace full time for 2 years, now going back to school. But I've worked different part time jobs since I was 16.

Youve worked in corporate America for 2yrs?? So no actual real experience with what can and cant be offshored or delegated out. Part time jobs at 16 dont count.

You're right, when I turn 101 and am allowed to have an opinion I'll come back. RemindMe! 78 years

We have a few h1b hires at my workplace. They're very sharp and eager employees and also work surprisingly hard at being 'American'. Want to buy homes, get married, go to social events at coworkers houses etc.

The H-1B system is pretty obviously a scam at this point. It's mostly just nepotistic hires for Indians.

I never understood why America feels the need to "import" its intelligent workers. Do we not have enough homegrown talent to make it work?

Because our government hates its own people and loves foreigners. If you accept that then a LOT of what goes on makes sense.

Cost savings. My company loves doing it combined with straight up outsourcing offshore, clients hate it. Every 5-10yrs they try it, it backfires, they backdown, rinse wash repeat.
