Split is a bad movie and James McAvoy's acting is one of the things that makes it bad. amirite?

It insists upon itself

I disagree, but dig the reference

You Sir, are shallow and pedantic.

Well played.

Semi-related: I often find myself wishing that more people understood the difference between the statements "I like this movie" and "this is a good movie." I have friends who love the Fast & Furious franchise. I disagree with them firmly, but I also appreciate that every single one of them says "oh yeah they're AWFUL. But I like them." I think we all have things like that, and it's okay to acknowledge them.

Dude, it's like the third movie in the franchise.

A good movie stands on its own. I watched Harry Potter, LOTR , and Star Wars movies out of order and still liked them.

Damn. I was wrong. Still dont care

You care a lot that's why you keep responding.

Yep. Glass reached a level of terrible I haven't seen since The Happening.

Yes and am I wrong?

Sir, this is unpopular opinion, not dumb opinion
by Anonymous1 week ago
Am I wrong though?
by Miserable-Comb1 week ago
You can't be wrong about your opinion, it is what it is. My opinion is that it is dumb to seemingly advocate for watching movies out of order when watching them in order would make the experience exponentially better.
by Anonymous1 week ago
Yeah hard disagree.

See? I've come to the right place.
by Anonymous1 week ago
Solid unpopular opinion. Updoot.

Unbreakable and Split were terrific. James Mcavoy is one of the best actors of his generation. However, Glass left a lot to be desired.

Agree. I found Split entertaining, I can even say I liked it. I think James McAvoy is a good actor, but most of the personalities are plain and forgetable, now I think of it, I only remember the Hedwig kid personality.

I think this was the first movie I saw Anya in. She did great, as usual.

He's being big, yeah. But it's still something you have to be good at. Which he is. And the range of characters he was able to portray in that manner was impressive. It's a bit silly, yeah, but he was fun to watch. Which made the movie alright instead of meh.

It felt a little like watching a young kid do bad impressions that he doesn't realize are bad. Isn't that the entire point of the movie? Even one of his "alters" is a little kid.

That's actually a pretty good rebuttal.

I love the entire trilogy.

Shyamalan been living off reputation for 20 years now. He had that like 5 year run from 99-04 where he had a few hits and that was it.

I agree, I found the movie and his performance to straight up offensive, I know someone with did and they felt the same way. That whole movie was gross, have we not moved past the whole "mentally ill people are scary monsters" thing? I'm surprised more people didn't have a problem with it.
