Metacritic is more reliable though because it's an actual aggregate score that represents how most reviewers actually felt about something. Rotten Tomatoes is basically just a binary yes/no system where the percentage represents how many liked it, regardless of if they gave it a 6/10 or 10/10. It's more of a measure of wide appeal than anything. IMDb is borderline useless at this point because it's so susceptible to review bombing. Metacritic meanwhile I can look at the score and see, oh it has a 73 so most people gave it around a 7/10 or a 98 so most people gave it close to a flawless score. Definitely works better than Rotten Tomatoes for cutting through the weeds, RT can rarely distinguish between "pretty decent" and "truly great" in my experience.

View all review aggregate sites as equally useless. Just find reviewers who share your taste.
