It's the taste of exclusivity and danger, not the taste of the fish. Lobster used to be what poor people ate.

Vast majority of fugu is farmed now and not toxic bc the poison comes from what it eats (like the fish in the tropics that are poisonous, I forgot the name). They sell it in vending machines in the area around the farms.
