Had a double terrier mix, Jack Russel and rat terrier. He was a beast. He would want to get in my grandpa's room, so I'd reach my hand to the door handle, but he was protective of my grandpa, so he'd try to bite my hand, I was just trying to help! He also responded to "sick ‘em boy!" By barring his teeth and growling and leaping off to attack nothing because there was nothing there when I said it lol.

We have a Jack Russell and this more or less checks out. Though ours hasn't ever attacked anything living. He just gets pissed at something he sees and unleashes holy hell on one of his toys. One exception - our son who he loves and is protective of. Anyone lays a hand on him and they'd have two bloody stumps where their ankles used to be.
