Oh boy I wish my bf would go in for one. Refuses

by Anonymous 2 days ago

She says she doesn't have it, idk if she had a sleep study but she says she doesn't have the other symptoms

by Bernita43 2 days ago

I'll give your mom the C for free. Might help her sleep.

I wear ear plugs because my bf snores terribly

by GrouchyCelebration49 2 days ago

I agree with your initial statement, but in your mom's defense, medical advice often falls short.

Record her snoring and let her listen. She might not realise just how bad it is.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

She'll be even more annoyed at me

by Bernita43 1 day ago

I also have sensory issues so it makes it far worst. Are you sure that isn't the problem instead of the snoring itself? Also if she saw a doctor about it, she did do something about it.

by Dry-Department-510 1 day ago

It affects my sister and my dad. Even before we got the dog (who likes to spend half the night in my parents room and half the night downstairs) he sleeps on the couch downstairs. My sister says she can hear it too

I use to be a side sleeper. My current GF liked holding my arm so I switched to a back sleeper and now I snore terrobly

by Calm_Career_9900 1 day ago

if she actually went to a doctor and actually told them that her snoring keeps her daughter from being able sleep, that doctor would've referred her to a sleep clinic so insurance would pay for a cpap or bipap I'm guessing her pride is keeping her from admitting something might be wrong with her and getting help since you can't make her do what is best for herself, then get a white noise machine for yourself to help drown out her snores, and maybe you can convince her to put sound proofing in her room too

by Anonymous 1 day ago

It's probably her pride. I'm her daughter BTW. I honestly can't wait until summer is over and I'm back at university so I don't have to deal with this ever night

by Bernita43 1 day ago

my bad, I'll fix it

by Anonymous 1 day ago

No problem I do look very androgynous Irl especially when my hair is short like it is now lol

by Bernita43 1 day ago

If your sensory issues are causing this much rage towards your mother for something she HAS taken steps to address, then it sounds like you're the one who needs help - if possible - not her.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I have talked to my therapist about it

by Bernita43 1 day ago

Ask her to try mouth tape.

by Express-Worry-4972 1 day ago

She gets annoyed whenever I suggest products to use

by Bernita43 1 day ago

CPAP is the way to go

by Anonymous 1 day ago

That would be good especially since I have one I use in my dorm, the only problem is that my bedroom is the coldest in the house and I am always cold.

by Bernita43 1 day ago

Play white noise or brown noise?

by odie60 1 day ago

White noise machine on your phone is your friend.

by Pitiful_Train_3371 1 day ago

White noise app on your phone plus a fan is your friend. You don't need the fan blowing on you to to get the benefit. Being in a cold room to sleep is the best anyways. (66F is perfect temp for sleeping)

by Pitiful_Train_3371 1 day ago

Sure. But at the same time, if someone complains about snoring, but doesnt try earplugs, how bad can we feel for them? Foam earplugs are cheap as it comes, incredibly effective, and you can just use a vibrating watch alarm to wake up.

by Own-Replacement-3864 1 day ago

Most people can't wear earplugs every night. Personally I can wear them for 4 nights max, before they start giving me ear issues, then I have to give my ears a few nights break. So it's fine for temporary situations like travelling, but not a solution in your own house.

by Beneficial_Draw4220 1 day ago

I do have loops (once again sensory issues) but I'm worried about them falling out of my ears while sleeping and losing them. I also can't handle for form ones for a long times

by Bernita43 1 day ago

She says she doesn't have apnea. Idk about the other stuff she doesn't see how bad of an issue it is

by Bernita43 1 day ago

She has used nasal strips, but she doesn't like them so she doesn't use them

by Bernita43 1 day ago

Get surgery done if she has a deviated septum because at this point, it's affecting everyone else in the family and has been for years

by Bernita43 1 day ago

you cant do anything about snoring.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Very much incorrect. There are many things that can help, ranging from changing sleep positions or pillows or humidity to utilizing breathing strips, breathing machines or nasal passage surgeries. She even might only need to lose weight. She should at least not just hand-wave it all when it's hurting her family.

by No-Mortgage 1 day ago

ok. what if none of those work? which is fairly common.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

White noise machine my dude. It's the simplest and most reasonable solution because even with intervention, snoring is not so easily prevented. Or earplugs, if your sensory issues make it hard to use a white noise machine.
