+71 You've never truly loved something until you've had children (assuming you're in healthy relationships). amirite?

Agree it's unpopular opinion . I'm a child of parents who didn't love their kids. You couldn't possibly treat a kid that way if it was something you loved more than anything else. I'll stick with my cat.

crazy how this mindset be really screwing over some women, some don't naturally just fall in love with their baby but hear about how they should, they keep waiting for it to kick in and feel terrible about themselves and don't seek help cuz they think something is wrong with them or people will look down at them for not having the same experience, glad you feel yours is going great tho also not an unpopular opinion, I literally hear people say that all the time especially if you mention you don't want kids

I've had 3 moments of true love. The first is my wife, the second is my cat, and the third is my daughter. I'd be equally heartbroken if any of them were to pass. My cat is pretty much like my firstborn. He's also super protective of my daughter. I will say that the love I felt for my daughter was almost instant (as soon as I held her pretty much) whereas my wife and cat took some time to reach that level. I would never tell them that though lol.
