Cats are far more work than dogs, dirtier too, amirite?
by rudolphmarvin5 hours ago
I'm no expert or anything but I think you need to train your cats dude

Your lack of research and understanding of cats doesn't make this an unpopular opinion lol The only thing that makes cats a wee bit easier is that they can be left alone for a day or two

My cat cries and pukes if im gone for over 3 hours so honestly they're on the same level depending on the catðŸ˜

Do you Not pick up your dogs poop? You know that doesn't go anywhere, right? It doesn't rot or anything, it It just sits there forever

No, I know im not nose blind to it because I haven't owned a cat in a couple years, but I still cat sit here and there for different people. You can smell it for a couple seconds sometimes before the cat buries it. It also depends on the type of litter box, the litter does an amazing job at removing the smell completely.

I only start to smell the litter when I haven't been cleaning it enough

Almost everything you described is just you being annoyed with them, not them requiring more work and effort.

I never get up on freezing morning to let the cats out for their "business." They sleep most of the day. I can leave them alone to go to work and they don't destroy the house. They don't smell like "dog." I do scoop their boxes but I would still have to dispose of the dog's business too. They can free feed on dry food, so if I'm late getting home, or get caught overnight somewhere, they won't starve and they won't overeat. Sure, they scratch the occasional chair, but they don't try to eat my shoes. I think cats are so much easier.

So, you just hate cats and thats fine. Don't forget that dogs also Bark, so they make considerably more noise. Dogs smell more and need to be cleaned more often. Dog food also smells, as well as their waste. Dogs also kill animals and play with their bodies, without the courtesy of presenting their kill to you. They are also just as annoying when they want attention, and considerably more hyperactive.

Exactly! Cats are actually invasive animals in most ecosystems.

Right?? According to the 2014 State of the Birds report, there were an estimated 1.3-4 billion birds killed by cats in the US that year and 196 million in Canada. That is insane!!

Cats definitely feel like more work to me. When I had cats as a child, it was constant having to scoop the litter box etc. With our dogs, we just let them outside and that was pretty much it. I personally also find dogs easier. I don't know if dogs are actually cleaner though.

Spoken like a true ass who doesn't pick up behind their dogs
by Anonymous2 hours ago
Huh? We let our dogs outside, on our own large fenced in property. What are you complaining about?

Not everyone lives where they have to walk their dogs on other people's land. I've got six acres of woods, I'd rather it decompose there than sit in a plastic bag in a landfill.

If it's their own yard, who cares😂 i prefer to go around the yard every other day and pick up the poops since its a lot nastier when they're fresh

My cats always finished their food. Maybe what you buy is inedible

Every single complaint you have about cats can also be said about dogs. A lot of this is based on individualized experience.
