+27 Attention seeking behavior is not bad in 90% of cases, amirite?

I mean I agree but I'm also a raging attention whore so that's kind of a given there.

So introspective of you! That's a virtue __^

Thats the true distinction here, desperation for attention is different to a necessary rule that one must be noticed, at the very least

I think you're describing the other 10% from what OP is talking about. They don't like that the regular run-of-the-mill attention seeking is demonized.

The 90% isn't attention seeking behavior, it's just normal social behavior. Attention seeking behavior is the other 10%.

Wanting attention is normal. It's how we connect. No judgement needed

I think there's an important distinction to make here between enjoying attention vs seeking attention.

I think it's generally a good idea to try and discourage behavior where the only goal is attention. Yes it's human to crave attention, but we should be trying to set up a system where you have to earn attention by being good at something valuable. We don't care about a musician wanting attention, because there's a fair exchange. They get attention, we get to experience the music. But when people just want to get attention by being loud and obnoxious, there's no fair exchange there. They get attention, and we get annoyed.

Well said, especially if it's disrupting work or personal quiet time

We don't all want to be seen. Many people just want to be left alone.

So just don't seek attention. Life goes on

I m always so scared of people thinking i do or say things for attention… This helps put things into perspective a little

You're completely right, it's normal and everyone does it. Anytime I've ever been annoyed or call it out is when the attention seeking is actively taking from someone else. Not just interrupting but taking away someone's chance to shine or share or just their chance to talk. Then it's not OK.
