+44 Situationships are healthy, amirite?

I don't think you're defining anything healthy lmao

At that point it's not a situationship though. The point of calling it a situationship is that it's undefined and ambiguous.

The problem with situationships is that one person wants more commitment than the other or one of the parties wants no commitment at all.But the person who is more commited usually doesn't know or doesn't wanna see the situation as it is or just hopes that the other party will change their mind somewhen. This is inherently unhealthy

If intentions are communicated and understood, sure.

But at that point, it's not a situationship. If intentions are clear, it's just a casual hookup. The point of a situationship is that it is ambiguous.

I feel like having a situationship at some point in your life is healthy just to see what the fuss is about, but NOT ALL RELATIONSHIPS SHOULD BE SITUATIONSHIPS!!! The problem isn't that complicated FWB dynamics exist, it's that EVERYONE is terrified of commitment these days and unless you set up some pretty strict parameters about what you are looking for at the start (narrowing your options down a LOT), chances are, 90% of the romantic and sexual contact you experience will end up being a situationship. And people are rightly sick and tired of it. They are tired of being used, they are tired of being on someone's roster. Most people want monogamy and want commitment at some point, and wasting time in a relationship that's going no where is not fun for anyone.

couldn't agree more. as long as everyone involved is honest, respectful, and sexually responsible.
