Humans should be proud in their planetary supremacy, amirite?
by Anonymous5 hours ago
Only the intellectuals should be proud. The average person does not contribute anything meaningful to society, me included.

Do you work together with your fellow man? Do you decide to obey the rules that keep society running? Do you have a job and aren't a freeloader? If so, you contribute to society in the most meaningful way possible. Congratulations!

Does that mean a citizen should not be proud of his country, a child of his family, or a species of it's achievements? There's nothing wrong in having pride of being part of something larger than ourselves. Pride can be an affirmation of one's own place, history, and potential.

Morally? That's debatable.

This 100%. We might be the only species on the planet that seems to be actively destroying our chances of our future survival.

What is there to be proud of? It's just evolution that led to humans being the way we are. And that could always change over millennia, even things like AI as they become more intelligent. We have no idea what pressures will happen to other beings that could lead to them developing similarly, it's not like humans were something special.

Do you consider telepathy special?

Relevance?

This guy is about to spew something about spoken and written language being a form of telepathy whilst ignoring the reality that millions of species possess the capacity to communicate, many of them in ways much closer to what is actually meant by the word "telepathy"—thus ironically demonstrating the failure of human language to grant him supernatural knowledge of the meaning of the word

It's always weird to think that you should feel a sense of pride for things you didn't do

Are we though?
by Anonymous2 hours ago
If we aren't, who is then?

Bacteria doesn't have to go to work, doesn't feel pain, and reproduces basically at will

But inside our bodies are bacteria that are good for us
by Anonymous1 hour ago
Yes. It is everywhere, a true super class of organisms

None? Evolutionary biology is not a value system. You can't use it to make value judgements.

Humans are already proud of their planetary supremacy, so much so a lot of them put themselves in groups to decide who is the best kind of human. We need to not do that anymore please.
