-40 Jim Carrey is annoying, amirite?

by Anonymous 18 hours ago

I do think OP said it wrong... but I get what they mean. A character who is just zany is boring and hollow.

by Much-Boysenberry-971 18 hours ago

I suppose you're right but it's just TOO much for me lol. Grinch is like barely tolerable for me but the mask I just can't do

by Anonymous 17 hours ago

I won't lie he kinda annoys the hell outta me too in a lot of stuff. But I always liked the mask. I can't really think of a better actor to have done that role. I feel like he's a lot better in movies where he's toned down like 4 or 5 notches.

by Longjumping_Tour 17 hours ago

I will say for what the movie was going for, yes he was perfect for the role, not denying that

by Anonymous 17 hours ago

Agreed. Sheldon is annoying af

by Anonymous 17 hours ago

It's a kids movie. I was 12 when it released. Loved it. As an adult I can barely tolerate it either.

by Fun-Luck 16 hours ago

The Mask is the best! Love it

by hackettdario 16 hours ago

I cannot sanction his buffoonary

by Anonymous 16 hours ago

Is that you Tommy?

by Much-Procedure 15 hours ago

Yup. Dude's obnoxious. One of the cringiest actors to ever act.

by rosanna54 15 hours ago

I've never been a fan. He just gets on my last nerve.

by Difficult_String_689 15 hours ago

Oh he is definitely a character what I will say is watch eternal sunshine of a spotless mind, it's anymore tame and dramatic role

by Anonymous 14 hours ago

I have been meaning to watch that one at some point. I just know it's sad so I've procrastinated lol

by Anonymous 14 hours ago

More like bitter sweet than sad. It's a really good movie.

by Anonymous 14 hours ago

I liked the serious and dramatic parts of that movie, but come on, he literally wears a diaper and pretends to be a toddler hiding under a table. It's not that tame.

by Creepy-Step-4054 14 hours ago

It's a little tamer a little bit

by Anonymous 14 hours ago

Being uninhibited is often mistaken for talent

by Anonymous 14 hours ago

I agree! And I'm going to REALLY go with another unpopular opinion and say the same things about Robin Williams. I like him as a human being, but sometimes he was so manic and overly animated that it annoyed me

by Anonymous 13 hours ago

Same. I respect his talent with the witty, off the cuff humor, but it was never my style. However he kills it in dramatic roles.

by Anonymous 13 hours ago

I can agree with that to an extent. To be fair though I honeslty haven't watched much Robin Williams other than Mrs doubtfire which I love. And of course genie in Aladdin which is just an iconic role.

by Anonymous 13 hours ago

I didn't see the craziness so much in Mrs. Doubtfire. Honestly, the stuff that I didn't like might have been him on cocaine during the first 15 years of his career πŸ˜†πŸ˜†πŸ˜†

by Anonymous 13 hours ago

He's a dreadful actor. Can't stand him.

by Anonymous 12 hours ago

I understand not liking him but to call him a dreadful actor is silly. You don't have to like the roles he is in, but the end of the day, he is really good at playing those roles and that is why he is popular and is casted in those roles. People so often won't separate the role from the actor, and if they don't like the role or character the person plays, they for some reason decide it should be a indictment on their personal character and actual acting ability. I'll never understand it.

Loo-hoo-hoo-hooooooo-ser

by Present-Round9036 11 hours ago

πŸ˜‚ ok good one loll

by Anonymous 11 hours ago

I still find dumb and dumber very funny, but more so for Jeff daniels honestly

by Anonymous 11 hours ago

He does do it well I won't deny that. Not a bad actor, just annoying πŸ˜‚

by Anonymous 11 hours ago

I found it hilarious as a 13 year old kid in the 90s. Why any other demographic like him now I have no idea

by Fragrant-Judgment 10 hours ago

Speaking as someone whose teenage brother had a Jim Carrey phase and never grew out of it... THANK YOU.

by daviscleo 10 hours ago

I'm with you mostly. I do love Carrey in Truman Show and Eternal Sunshine if the Spotless Mind though.

by Anonymous 10 hours ago

It's that cartoon character style of acting. It's his signature, and I love it. But I get why others wouldn't.

by Anonymous 10 hours ago

Not an unpopular option at all AFAIC. I liken it to the Jerry Louis style persona that still captivates some people. I find it sad that is all the "talent" that some "actors" possess.

by Anonymous 10 hours ago

Jim is also a good actor though. Just watch Eternal Sunshine, The Truman Show, Man on the Moon etc to see the other side of him

by Neither-Homework4202 10 hours ago

Sounds like you're not watching the right movies or that movies just aren't your thing (which is fine)

by Neither-Homework4202 9 hours ago

Yes, I'll be the first to agree I'm jaded these days and have a "been there, done that" altitude.

by Anonymous 9 hours ago

Truman show is a great example of him being a great actor. Also man on the moon is incredible as he nails Andy Kaufmans mannerisms and speech in that

by Aliyah58 9 hours ago

I agree, I don't get the appeal of him, never found him funny whatsoever. I don't know if it's a difference in comedic taste, but I'm British and like British comedy. Jim Carrey is very much an American style comedy actor, and I'm just not a big fan of that style of comedy

by Anonymous 9 hours ago

I don't think this is unpopular. There are plenty of people who feel the same.

by Anonymous 8 hours ago

There are, but there's also a lot of people who do love him even to say he's their favorite actor. It's gotta be unpopular to some people lol. Every unpopular opinion is still gonna have a few that agree

by Anonymous 8 hours ago

You should see his bits on In Living Color. Firemarshal Bill is hilarious

by Anonymous 8 hours ago

I agree. But Yes man is hilarious. What is a Zany?

by Anonymous 8 hours ago

Hated yes man lol. And zany is like eccentric, quirky, outlandish, wacky, e.t.c.

by Anonymous 7 hours ago

I haven't watched many of his movies, but he did amazing in the Truman show

by QuietSignificance828 7 hours ago

I used to like Jim Carrey, until he decided being political was more important than being a comedian. Now he sucks. Saying that, while I do find humor in some of his work, I can see how people would find him annoying.

by mireillenolan 6 hours ago

It's fascinating that the weakest performer on In Living Color became the biggest star.

by koelpinclementi 6 hours ago

Alrighty then…

by Anonymous 6 hours ago

What year is this? He's only in the Sonic movies nowadays. He's basically retired from a acting.

by sunnyschinner 6 hours ago

2001 calling Lmao. Carrey hasn't been relevant in years Im just imagining you getting so furious at Ace Ventura 2 but now in 2025

by Anonymous 6 hours ago

Yea he may not be as relevant as today but people are still watching his movies so he's still relevant in that sense. I don't like the ace ventura movies based alone that I think they're annoying, nothing else.

by Anonymous 5 hours ago

He is literally a current star of the best performing video game movie franchise of all time. I don't understand how you can say he hasn't been relevant in years when he is relevant now.

by Savings_Bite_9609 5 hours ago

opinions don't have time restrictions

by New-Artichoke-9202 5 hours ago

Writes somebody who has never seen The Truman Show or Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.

by Anonymous 5 hours ago

I know he's more tame in those movies but that's still not his typical acting style. Yes he can play dramatic roles but when you think of jim Carrey you think of his wacky antics. Plus I never said I hate every single movie he's ever been in. A listed a couple that I like but as a whole I still don't "love" him as an actor

by Anonymous 5 hours ago

Hes a GOAT in my eyes, I've enjoyed every movie he's been in. He is 100% my kind of stupid and I love it!
