I don't really know why this is any worse than before when countless people in society would be born, grow up, and spend their entire lives in an entirely mono-cultural town where people broadly had very similar political and social views. I think the more concerning aspect isn't as much that sociopolitical bubbles exist, but rather that it allows for the formation of much more extreme sociopolitical bubbles.
