USB A is still one of the most used USB types used all around the world. It just evolved into USB 3.0 which is faster, but it has the exact same shape, so I don't see where the "nostalgia" factor plays a role here.

USB A is still one of the most used USB types used all around the world. I mean the same can still be said about VGA cables over Display/HDMI cables. It's not as much of it 'upgrades' that makes it great it's that there's so much dragging of feet that they have to upgrade the spec just to keep whatever is using it viable still.

I do agree tho. There's more of a nostalgic feel to it rather than sticking a USB-C charger in. It slaps differently.
