TSA: Touching Sexual Areas

They don't even charge you for it either.

by Sensitive_Artist4045 8 hours ago

Hating TSA is not an unpopular opinion. The whole thing is just a job creation program for the otherwise unemployable.

by Anonymous 7 hours ago

Seriously they fail a lot of their internal checks

by Jaida57 7 hours ago

I'm sorry that the TSA did this to you. You're right, most of the time the agents doing checked bag searches only see "things," and don't have a clue the value behind them. I'd say cut those agents a break though. If you spend all day just looking through "things," it can blind you to the humanity behind each piece of luggage. The agents in the security line? Who barely look at you when they're checking credentials? Different story.

How so?

I feel like we might have forgotten something... I just can't put my finger on it.

It was a stuffed animal, my documents and clothes they didn't need to look in that, they WANTED to. His death certificate was damaged right next to it, they cause unnecessary harm I say let them have it back.

by Anonymous 6 hours ago

Hey, it's important to you and I can understand that. 💔 They don't generally go making more work for themselves, though. I travel a lot and TSA is in everyone's stuff, if it's any consolation. They pulled my kid's matchbox car out of my purse because it looked like some odd kind of metal item from that angle in the scanner.

by leschlindsey 6 hours ago

yet they fail every other audit

by bradensauer 5 hours ago

They have it back though, right!?

by Anonymous 5 hours ago

My personal policy and experience is to not let items out of my possession that I don't care to lose, insure, or secure. I don't pack medication in checked bags, for example. Again, I'm sorry about TSA/your specific item.

I had a friend that was a Port Authority Police Officer. He said his favorite thing was to arrest TSA Officers. Apparently it happens with some regularity.

You need therapy bad this sounds schizo, people aren't their belongings and people going through your bag doesn't mean they think you're less than human. You sound genuinely insane and I'm sure you're hurting but this is nuts

Hating your job is no excuse to be a jerk and ruin other people's time

Bus drivers?? Awful jobs for stupid and self loathing people? Rich coming from a guy who's wife hates him lol

by Anonymous 3 hours ago

I personally believe every one of us has invisible context and pain. If I was in their place I'd treat the things I touch like I don't know how important it is to someone else.. that's actually why I'm so upset. We all have it so hard in our own ways, it was important enough to pack carefully they should put it back carefully.

I'm sorry about your late husband and that you've had to deal with awful TSA agents, but not all of them are bad like that. Don't lump them in with these other assholes working TSA.

by doriswiza 3 hours ago

TSA, DMV, and IRS workers are some of the most disrespectful workers I have met. All the people I have met have said the same thing.

They are being pressured by the airlines to process passengers as quickly as possible. Time is money in the airline business. The kind of attention you want is simply unrealistic. Next time, ship that precious item with FedEx

by Budget-Plankton 1 hour ago

Yeah this is a weird hot take by OP, overly emotional and not accepting their decisions in the process. An explosive gets through and everyone will be blaming TSA for not being thorough enough! If it's that precious don't put it in bags on a shared plane.

by leschlindsey 1 hour ago

It was in my checked bag for the reason you are stating. Your logic is sound if TSA agents weren't arbitrarily allowed to open bags and there was anything other than that clothes, toiletries and that file folder. It's an abuse of power they should at the very least have to write one sentence on the pamphlet as to why a bag was opened and shampoo and body wash wasn't put back inside the plastic bag it was packed in with a signature (badge number idk if they have those).

Youre right

Their job sucks and I hate the security shenanigans but all TSA I've interacted with have been nice maybe a little peeved to have to do the charade as I am
