Peanuts and green onions are put into the foods exactly for their texture. Adds a bit of complexity and a more pleasant mouth feel than just a monotonous softness of the rest of the dish.

Peanuts should only be used in savory dishes. Love them in Thai, Malay, Indonesin food.

Green onion always heighten a dish.... someone throwing in peanuts makes me gag though. I can't even do crunchy peanut butter. I love smooth peanut butter but the texture of actual peanuts is just gag worthy and disgusting.
