+72 Spotify is not good, just most popular, amirite?

Meh, I'll stick with youtube music. Never had any issues with it.

probably the most underrated, good algorithm, awesome quality has almost everything you can think

I used to use it before going to Spotify. Should I go back?

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Yeah. Plus by having YT music, you dont get ads on YT and it pays the Youtuber you watch so.. Win for everyone.

Spotify just has a great algorithm, I've discovered heaps of great music by just letting the suggested songs play after I finish an album/ep. I feel like at this point music streaming is like console gaming where people just stick with whatever one they picked first lol, yeah they all have their differences and some do things better but at the end of the day you're using them all to listen to the same music and running them in the background of other activities. If you really wanted to make a change you'd scrap your streaming services altogether and buy on Bandcamp and physical media.

Been trying it out this week, it's great.

I did all the free trials back in the day and settled on Amazon music until I switched to iPhone a few years ago and got the Apple Music bundle. I felt they were all the same, but if you consolidate your services with Amazon or Apple you are better off.

I use Tidal too: better audio quality, better recommendations and they pay better to the artist. But it depends on what you want and it has less options.

Maybe boring, but I have songs saved on my phone in the chronological order I added them. Then I count them corresponding to the days of the week. If it's a Thursday, say, I'll only play Thursday songs. I just scroll past if I don't want to hear one of the songs. Helps me not feel bored since the most I'd listen to a song is one day out of seven.

I have never tried Tidal but I really like YouTube Music. It's discovery algo is way better than Spotify's.

I agree that the shuffle isn't the best but are you resetting that 1200 playlist when you play it? What I mean is play something else (like an album or podcast) then restart the playlist. It resets the song order.

It has all sorts of issues. App and website.

not unpopular in some regions.... its quality has certainly gone down over the years, especially with the cost.... many ways to get Apple Music, Amazon Music and Youtube Music for free.... also their library is significantly smaller then those on Apple Music although most of mainstream stuff is on it

Spotify is god awful. Horrible streaming quality, not supportive of small artists, and they pay their artists less per stream than all others. I'm that price range Apple Music is the GOAT. Highest fidelity and they pay the artists almost twice as much as Spotify. Tidal is great, but pricey. You get what you pay for though!

I always liked Pandora and had been using it since like 2013 or 2014

I only use it for podcast but YouTube music is amazing for music

My brother added me to a Spotify family plan (shout out to bro) and the ad free music is great. That being said, Spotify sucks ass compared to YouTube. I literally don't get how this is the most popular music platform. I still find myself going back to YouTube a lot because Spotify just lacks the music catalog that YouTube has. So yes, Spotify premium for free is worth it, but I wouldn't pay for this app ever. YouTube Music has more music, better UI, and the user experience is just better. I also find the Spotify app surprisingly laggy compared to the YouTube Music app I was using.

Nothing can match the flow of Youtube Music

Paying money to borrow music while supplying your own connection will always be mental to me. Buy physical media before it's too late

by Alternative-Hat-8511 22 hours ago

Can't use that in my car

by Anonymous 22 hours ago

Incorrect. I buy CDs and rip them to my iTunes. Apple does the work for you.

by Alternative-Hat-8511 21 hours ago

Lmao I know you aren't on here claiming Tidal as superior. Nobody uses that

by Anonymous 21 hours ago

The real ones use SoundCloud lol

by Anonymous 21 hours ago

Is this jayz himself ? I don't think anyone else uses tidal
