+69 Sleeping in is so boring, amirite?

by Anonymous 17 hours ago

How is it boring if you're unconscious during it?

by Anonymous 17 hours ago

I was thinking the same thing lol

by jackeline46 17 hours ago

Just knowing it's eating up into time I could be spending doing other productive things. I mean you said it yourself, you're literally unconscious

by Anonymous 16 hours ago

I don't think you understand what boring means, if you're not conscious, you cant be bored, boring is something you don't find interesting in the moment, you can't be bored of something you don't remember happening. You can say the dreams you remember are boring.

Okay, but if you're usually up at 5-6 and get up later on the weekends you are sleeping in.

by parkerheidenrei 16 hours ago

This. I wake up at 3-330 for work so weekends I sleep in until 6-7. Definitely feels like sleeping in to me

by Lucas56 15 hours ago

I'm still losing sleep and my son is 31

by Anonymous 15 hours ago

7 wks in. I wish I wasn't awake at 430am but here I am feeding him. Lol

by Fine-Leading-7010 14 hours ago

No kids and I'd love to sleep until 7. If it's not my dog waking me up at 4:30 it's my body.

I fell asleep almost immediately after being born, apparently. I joke that it was my first hobby and remains my best skill.

Im 53 and find I feel the most rested with 8 hours of sleep. More than 9 hours or under 6 hours, I feel groggy. 8 hours is the sweet spot for me. I don't find sleeping in boring, but I just don't like to do it for more than 8 hours because of how it makes me feel. I am retired, so I have plenty of time to do things. But when I worked, I would usually get less sleep in order to get more things accomplished.

Now that I'm mid 30s I get up early automatically but crash out early after lunch I get you kid I never really spent my 20s sleeping in to much to do and see

by Anonymous 13 hours ago

30s. I like sleeping precisely because it eats time.

by Fluid-Replacement288 13 hours ago

I meanโ€ฆ it's unpopular.

by Anonymous 13 hours ago

Mid 20's here and I love sleeping in

by Fantastic-Store-3590 12 hours ago

Just wait til your older, it'll catch up lol ๐Ÿ˜”

I used to be like you OP. In my teens and 20s, sleep was a necessity not a desire. Id sleep 5 hours max, and get back to doing something more productive. It was mostly video games so it wasn't productive, I congratulate you if you actually do something productive with your time lol. Im in my late 30s now and I have a daughter, I still see sleep as a necessity, not something I enjoy doing, but I need way more of it. I used to wake up at 7 am and go to bed at 2 am, now I'm passing out at 10:30 to 11

I don't sleep in. I stare at my ceiling and think about life decisions ๐Ÿ˜‚

by Anonymous 11 hours ago

You're not conscious to register the waste of time. And if your life is too busy to allow for your body's optimal amount of sleep, I wouldn't be blaming sleep for it.

I have better dreams than anything I could achieve in reality, but to be fair I'm also a depressive addict.

by Main_Earth_9373 11 hours ago

I'm with you. I don't know that I'd call it "boring," because you're not awake, but I love the early morning hours. I love a leisurely coffee in bed and some time to read, and don't mind waking up early to make sure I get it. I hate to rush to get ready, but also want to be dressed and ready for anything early, so that means early wake ups. I'm married to the exact opposite.

I really like sleeping, but that might just be because it's very difficult for me to fall asleep. I sleep like a rock once I am asleep, but it's just so hard to get to sleep. Sometimes I can sit in bed all night, even without a phone or TV or any other device, and I just won't fall asleep. Maybe once or twice a month. In high school it happened like once a week. Sleeping is annoying because you sort of wish you could keep doing stuff, but not sleeping is far worse. Being well-rested makes every other activity more enjoyable.

have you ever tried sleeping in? you cannot say its boring if you never tried it.

by daynachamplin 10 hours ago

I don't think you realize people who sleep in are typically staying up later than you.. a lot of people don't sleep in because they need more than 8 hours , but because they didn't fall asleep by 10 pm

by Born-Chemistry-5216 10 hours ago

I think you're just not depressed bro. Good for you.

by Anonymous 10 hours ago

Reading this at 6 AM about to go to sleep, oughta disagree here.

I'm taking care of my mom right now, I have to be up from 8pm-8am to do medication and anything else she might need. She's on end of life care and I've been doing this for a straight week now.

Are those "productive" things you do at 8-9 on a weekend here with us? Can it only be done in that time frame? Lol
