You have a point, but 4th of July has been such a really popular colloquial term for Independence Day, everyone accepts that as the more popular term for the holiday. "December 25th" for Christmas it does not have the same impact.

No, it doesn't. Nobody could have any freedom at all until England was overthrown. Junteenth couldn't have happened unless someone started to consider the concept of freedom. You have to celebrate the wins along the way. Rome isn't built, or destroyed in a day.
