wtf, did you just discover empathy? nothing about this is unpopular. it's literally competitor analysis in business.

But what if your enemy is "literally hitler?"

My message is about how some people refuse to listen to reasonable arguments simply because they dislike the person presenting them

by Aggressive-Most-6884 7 hours ago

Listen to him anyways

What enemies? I'm not in Hollywood…

This is the expanded version of "believe the character of people based on how they behave" cause it's not only actions but also ideas. I think that's where a lot of discourse breaks down, when emotions dictate actions rather than reason. It's funny too, cause the electrical signals have to travel farther to the logic systems than the systems that regulate emotions in the brain 🧠

What Andrew Tate video program did you pull this from?

by CarelessAd3541 5 hours ago

No, my message is obviously targeted towards irrational people not listening to reasonable arguments

by Aggressive-Most-6884 5 hours ago

How is this an unpopular take? Were you born yesterday?

This is a lot of words to describe what the actual ad hominem fallacy is. A lot of people think ad hominem is just insulting someone in a debate, but it's actually dismissing an argument based on who made it instead of the merits of the argument itself. Example: "You're wrong AND you're ugly" is not ad hominem. "You're wrong BECAUSE you're ugly" is ad hominem.

I'll listen to someone, if they listen to me. Not if they're rude and disrespectful.
