+59 If someone has a story that goes "an entire group of people cut me off", then I immediately side with the group of people. amirite?

I cut off my family because they were financially abusing me, and when I cut them off I became the bad guy.

Same! And they bad mouth me to anyone who will listen. Took a long time but I'm now OK with being the villain in their story. When ppl ask me about them, I just say, I wish them well. Good for you for standing up for yourself, chosen fam is such a beautiful thing.

yup. its just weird when people ask me about my family and i just lie and say they are well instead of getting into details cuz its no ones' business what i got going on. i have a solid group of friends. i hope one day i can start a family of my own. in the meantime i focus on being financially stable for myself.

You're an individual who cut off a group of people. The verso that fits with the OP would be your family cut you off because you were miserable to be around.

"I came out as gay and an entire group of people cut me off" would you side with the group of people in that situation? An entire group of people could simply be stupid?

You never know. Gay people can be dickheads, too.

You've clearly never met manipulative people then

People have tried to gaslight me on this website on multiple occasions... It never works because I've learned to spot it, but I won't give you that baggage if you don't want it.

Having someone literally say "since when is nudity sexual?" completely seriously just proves they were a troll. But to have the majority siding with the obvious troll is mind boggling.

oh my god this is such a dangerous way to think

by Anonymous 5 hours ago

What?

Its very context dependant, yes usually the group of people are right over the one person, but sometimes entire groups of people can be unresonable. assholes often befriend other arseholes so you can easily get an entire group of people all be in the wrong.

This sounds a lot like "I'll just go with the herd."

by Capable-Flower-2043 5 hours ago

So in other words you side against LGBTQ+ people

This lack of critical thinking is one of the reasons for the current state of America, and therefore, the world

This only works if you are certain the group of people are reasonable and correct. It's very rare to ever be able to get an entire groups take on what went down and everyone's opinion unless you are part of said group. So you are by default ignoring an (assumed to be true) personal account of events all because you need the other side of the story from who knows how many other people which you are never going to get. It's also possible for a group of people to be wrong too by the way, if 5 out of 8 people in a room think it's ok to be racist does that make it automatically right just because there's more racist people in the room?
