No point anyone telling you to "call _____" since you never can talk to a person. amirite?

It very much depends on the country you live in. Me? I just ring up and make the medical appointment. Even if I use the app to book it still asks if I want a callback. That usually happens within an hour or so. Banks are a bit more time consuming

Please do not lump all the states together. This greatly varies by state, as well.

Many doctors' offices in the states now use shady call centers instead of even making their receptionists answer the phone. You also never get to speak to the doctor directly over the phone here either. It's usually a nurse who is not a replacement for a competent doctor.

Call the doctor and make an appointment. The average PCP has 1200+ patients - there isn't enough time in the day to call every patient with a question. Exception is concierge medicine, but most don't have that.

I agree with you. However, you should still keep blowing them up until you talk to someone if the issue is actually important.
