+16 If you're sitting in an aisle seat on a plane it's your duty to stand up soon after landing, take your bag down and be ready to get off the plane as soon as the row in front has moved. amirite?

I'm not rushing to stand in a queue

It's always confused me when people do this, I mean what's the gain here?

Maybe theres a small chance they've been sat in a very uncomfortable seat for upwards of three hours and need to get some blood in their legs / buttocks / stretch their back. I stand up straight away - becuase I've been sat down for too long.

That's assuming that you're having to clear immigration or pick up checked bags Some people might have a connecting flight so no queuing, or it could be a domestic flight and no checked bags so people simply just leaving the airport

lol no. Be ready but don't be the guy that jumps up and gets in everyone's way. Grab your bag on your way out

I agree with this, it's row by row unless someone is clearly sitting and waiting to get off at the end

Before the pandemic, it was the people in the aisles who had the "right of way", so to say. After the pandemic it seems like people forgot how to travel, and now the planes empties row by row instead of

Isles never got the right of way, that makes no sense whatsoever. It's always been row by row

rubbish. when someone buys a ticket for a service, there is no 'duty' involved.

by Anonymous 57 minutes ago

That's not how it works. Paying an airline for a service doesn't entitle you to inconvenience other customers. Similar to how you have a duty not to cut in line

by Anonymous 53 minutes ago

its not my job to sit down and manage the expectations of people around me. speak to the air hostess, or perhaps email the aircraft designer about seat usage - better yet, pay for a seat you actually want

by Anonymous 36 minutes ago

Ridiculous take. The point isn't about the service of the flight, the airline or the aircraft designer. It's about people being civil and considerate to each other.

imagine the whole plane doing this. instead of a couple of super special assholes.

There's nothing worse than trying to stand between 2 seats that dont have enough room between them to stand straight while waiting for everyone to move, its like traffic OP the person confront of you isn't slowing you down, there's no magic jump up and get ahead in line, you are going to be there the same amount of time no matter how soon the person next to you stands up, and why would the person in the aisle need to stand any sooner than the person on the window? You are in the same row, you are going to get off at the same time.
