I think it's gotten much sweeter in the US over the decades. Used to be much more tomato-tasting and vinegar-tangy iirc, and really went well w/burgers and fries. I rarely use it anymore, but the stuff we have at the house doesn't have much sugar in it (comparatively) and doesn't use corn syrup or alternatives (stevia, Sucralose, etc). Tastes pretty close to what I remember.
