+26 YouTube made people overly analytical of entertainment media but not educated on how media is made, amirite?

They are one of those channels where if you watch a few it can be educational if you never tried to look at a movie critically before. But after a while you realize they are really just recycling their best selling lines.

It also got people addicted to YouTube. Mission accomplished.

Every artist knows that if you make your art, in this case movies around avoiding plot hole is important but secondary to relatable characters, a good theme and a well paced story Watching today's movies, I'd say that knowledge is very rare. Sometimes it's a case of low talent, but in many cases, it's not.

Movies today aren't worse or better, we just have far more movies so you have to spend more time finding good ones. But this is how you get the "back in my day" mentality. Art from your formative years usually resonates with you more.

As someone who works in media - I agree! But I also counter, why is it important that people understand how art is made? We create media for the viewer to engage with it however resonates with them the most. Sure, people are more analytical, but Easter egg and plothole YouTube videos are fun! One could even consider those companion pieces that complement their viewing. As viewing habits change (as they do in every generation) it's on us to adapt.

To be fair, Pitch Meetings is the only thing Screen Rant was good for. Thankfully Ryan left them lol

Pitch Meetings is still under Screen Rant ownership, it's just on its own separate channel. I don't know what kind of contract Ryan George has with Screen Rant that he won't or can't let go of Pitch Meetings but it's the only thing with SR attached that's worth watching. Breaking away from Screen Rant is apparently not super easy, extremely an inconvenience.

I personally love pitch meetings and honest trailers. But op is right. I can't remember who said it some Big named film director he says " when you're making a movie you don't know if you're making a good one or a bad one, but it takes the same amount of work"
