+67 Giving streamers and YouTubers "early access" to your game before the public is terrible, amirite?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

While you want to avoid accidentally getting the ending spoiled i want to avoid buying an unplayable mess

by Anonymous 1 week ago

First of all, those games have been out for a while now. Secondly, those are sandbox/simulation games so what aspect of the game are you spoiled on?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Well that's wrong. The streamer weekend happened before the public beta.

I just want to be able to enjoy the game and not have to avoid accidentally getting the ending spoiled or the fun thing I was looking forward to trying be bad. You can just not watch the people who play the game.

There are so many fricking opinions here that are completely shut down by "well, just don't do that thing." It's gotten really annoying.

by No-Boot1643 1 week ago

It's annoying, but it is that simple. Just don't do the thing.

I hate when I'm playing in traffic and cars are honking at me! Don't even get me started on when they actually hit me with their car!!

by Anonymous 1 week ago

there is always the chance it gets spoiled online though with people discussing it.

Take in that media and avoid the internet the best you can until you're done

Nothing says "daunting task" quite like not clicking on apps

by Anonymous 1 week ago

It really, really worries me the amount of people on the internet who don't think they can put stuff down for a couple days/weeks so they don't get spoilt.

by sauerstefanie 1 week ago

I probably watch an hour of youtube a day and have no idea what a shorts is, so it can't be that daunting.

I finally got around to beating XCOM: Enemy Unknown last night. It's been out for over 12 years and I managed not to get spoiled.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I know, I too have zero impulse control and constantly click on things containing spoilers I don't want to see. Its a real burden. /s I can fully control my mouse hand, and not click on videos that will spoil sometyhing for me. Its not that hard.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Just mute them? I've done it before and it takes seconds

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I didn't know anyone actually used YouTube Shorts

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I use it instead of TikTok. Never downloaded that app.

If your SM is always feeding you videos about these games and that means you watch gaming videos a lot It's not the same thing as seeing a spoiler for a TV show in the headline of an article For the most part, to get spoiled by gaming videos you would have to click into and watch the video

by Anonymous 1 week ago

It helps promote the game

by Anonymous 1 week ago

op definitely has zero self-control. if you get spoiled on story bits and fun stuff, you kinda watched the whole thing mate.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

What?

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Got it. Don't watch it. Heard. Lol

by Anonymous 1 week ago

For real and alot of the time the spoiler is right in the title or the title card so you can't even avoid it.

by Own-Dragonfruit 1 week ago

Yes you can, you don't load the apps. I know I've already told you twice but it's clear it can't be said enough

by Anonymous 1 week ago

He's very much just making this up to have some fun at other people's expense

by Tyreekoelpin 1 week ago

100% agree. That's why I don't watch it or scroll past any spoilers. Half of the fun in most games is learning the mechanics and how stuff works. Exploring the full map just for fun and seeing what the limits of things are is exciting.

Everyone who has ever been online knows that if you don't want spoilers, don't use social media when insert thing comes out.

by Original-Sentence 1 week ago

You have the choice to make experience what you want. Use it.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

If you don't want something spoiling don't go onto apps. I can't really stress this enough but it isn't difficult.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

Sometimes the youtuber doesn't want the entire game spoiled by fans so usually if the game is being very hyped up on social media and has a annoying fanbase usually creators of those games might give youtubers access to the Game early so they can record all their vids and release them before fans ruin it for them

by Nannie02 1 week ago

First-world problem 😭✋️

by Awkward_Load 1 week ago

100%

by Anonymous 1 week ago

It's just advertising.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

I can't say that I've had anything spoiled for me online. I really don't think avoiding spoilers is that difficult, especially when they're coming from streams that you need to intentionally visit to see.

by Anonymous 1 week ago

That's not entirely true. But I get it "just don't look at it" lol

by Anonymous 1 week ago

You are ignoring the fact that those early copies come with caveats. The publishers decide exactly what you can and can't stream. The times that you should be spoiled by a video before a game is released should be an extremely rare scenario and it would be problematic for the streamer for sure. They'd get sued to hell.
