+54 People who say they don't hang out because 'everything costs money' are making excuses, amirite?

by Anonymous 3 days ago

There isn't an opinion here.

Yeah, their excuse is that "everything costs money." Congrats on figuring this out. Or maybe it means your company is not worth the price?

by Ready_Meat_2376 3 days ago

I mean, yea, it's an excuse but perhaps a valid one. Some people don't want to spend money. Some people don't have the money to spend. Some people might just be using it to get away from you. Just because someone has an excuse doesn't mean their excuse isn't perfectly valid.

It means they don't want to hang out anymore and you should allow them to naturally distance themselves.

No one owes you anything. Let people be.

You can go to the nearby forest for free regardless of age. Do working adults only meet at restaurants and other venues that charge money?

by Melodic_Potential 3 days ago

If I asked my friends to meet me in the forest, I think they'd call the police on me.

What nearby forest? A lot of places have no third spaces except sidewalks, and sometimes not even that.

I used to feel this way til Henry Kissinger married that capybara. After that it was like nah brah. Nah

A lot of these people wouldn't have been able to socialize back then either. If a place is inaccessible to you, then not being able to go there is valid, not an excuse.

by PreparationScary7668 3 days ago

lol sounds like whoever you're talking about just doesn't want to hang out with you

Is the unpopular opinion in the room with us?

by Anonymous 3 days ago

Then don't invite the person that keeps making that excuse. Pretty simple solution.

so true… where were all the free places years ago I don't remember? Were there free bars.. free restaurants? And many of these people won't hesitate to spend money on cigarettes, pot, or tattoos. What they really need to say is "it's not worth spending my money on. I'd rather spend it elsewhere"

by Anonymous 3 days ago

I literally only do free stuff other then food lol this has always been the case

They're basically saying you aren't worth the money and the hassle. Either find rich friends with no kids or lower your expectations on what constitutes a good time out on the town.
