They need to take cameras off of phones again, at least forward facing cameras. amirite?

Another person who is claiming that technology is the problem with the world today. As if people who are TikTok idiots would've suddenly been scholars had they been born 40 years earlier.

For real. I mean something with the formfactor of a gopro or osmo pocket is very small, will get equal to better IQ than a phone and every idiot can use it.

I mean just look at what you can buy today in the camera space that is compact, light and produces a good image. You'd be only pushing the ones really wanting to film stupid stuff towards better tools

Other than the ones with a big audience who already have a cameraman following them around, most people probably aren't going to go out and buy a nice digital camera specifically for YouTube and TikTok pranks.

Yeah, that's true. Leave it to people to take what is actually a pretty cool technology and figure out the worst possible way to use it.

I use my camera extensively for work, so that I can immediately send images to someone who needs it. No thanks, I'll keep mine.

I am sorry but that is part of the problem. My job just went way overboard with phone usage during COVID, now it is a lazy excuse to not do things the right way. What would have before required actual communication and coordination is now a quick blast in a group chat then they call it a day. Also, there is no delineation of business hours and reasonable times to send people stuff and expect a response. Ideally my personal phone should never be used for anything work related outside of emergencies.

How do I downdoot you? Is that a weird bedroom thing you're into?

The reason there are cameras in phones is because it sells. What is manufactured isn't determined by what will be contribute productively to society, it's what makes money.
