+37 Sunglasses barely help protect from the sun, and the hassle of using them outweighs the benefit of using them, amirite?

by Anonymous 5 days ago

This is unpopular opinion not incorrect facts

by Anonymous 5 days ago

They barely help ME I guess

by Anonymous 5 days ago

I have raybans. Also borrow friend's sunglasses. Same experience

by Anonymous 5 days ago

Well they help everyone protect their eyes against UV radiation

by Anonymous 5 days ago

They barely help me, I must have strong eyes

by Anonymous 5 days ago

What colour are those strong eyes?

by hayesdedrick 5 days ago

Brown

by Anonymous 5 days ago

That does make a difference. Lighter coloured eyes have less melanin and are more susceptible to sun damage. I absolutely refuse transitions and am stuck with two pairs of glasses if I'm going out for the day and night. It's not a looks thing, it's the same reason I take other precautions against the sun.

by hayesdedrick 5 days ago

They only buy Walmart sunglasses.

by Anonymous 5 days ago

Are you putting the sunglasses on and staring directly into the sun? You're still not supposed to do that.

by Anonymous 5 days ago

No, but if I'm not looking into the sun than I can see everything already

by Anonymous 5 days ago

You can get skin cancer on your eyeball. Eyes need uv protection too.

by Worried_Green 5 days ago

maybe you have bad eyesight

by Anonymous 5 days ago

It's possible

by Anonymous 5 days ago

Have you tried actual darkening sunglasses

by shannybernhard 5 days ago

Yes, that's why they are so dark to see through em

by Anonymous 5 days ago

Thank you, this helps a lot in understanding them actually

by Anonymous 5 days ago

Yeah, for sure. Always glad to help. And sorry for calling you dumb for thinking otherwise, pretty rude of me. But seriously, don't underestimate the power of the sun. Even ones for eclipses aren't meant to be used for a long time. The human body is super fragile in comparison to many, many things out there, eyes, especially. But don't let this talk you out of using them, again, they're much healthier to use in the sense of eye health, as you stated

by hegmanneric 5 days ago

Your not supposed to look directly into the sun glasses or not.

by Anonymous 5 days ago

See, I get to be the asshole wearing sunglasses at night cuz mine are actual prescription lenses. Between that, and the transition lenses I find colors more vibrant with the glasses on than without.

I can't be outside in the sun without sunglasses. Hurts my eyes, I can't live without them. I think people with light eyes are more sensitive to the sun, could that have something to do with this take? It's def not to ‘look cool' 😂😂

by Anonymous 5 days ago

Nah I don't have any problem with them helping others and I know it isn't to look cool. This is just my truth and experience with them

by Anonymous 5 days ago

Try this in Florida. Also sounds like you've never been to the beach and never tried polarized lenses.

by Anonymous 5 days ago

I live in Texas, sun is pretty prominent here too

by Anonymous 5 days ago

It's like saying sitting in the shade doesn't help protect your skin from UV rays. Some protection is better than no protection at all.

by ntrantow 5 days ago

Bro has never used genuinely polarized sunglasses.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Thank you, I will concede and say that they are helpful for health reasons. Seems like most people I know use them to see better in the sunlight though, and that's what I don't see

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Where do you live OP?

by shad32 4 days ago

Texas

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Crazy man. What about when there is glare off sand?

by shad32 4 days ago

Let brown eyed people have 1 W

by Anonymous 4 days ago

by Specialist_Field_943 4 days ago

How does my vision suck if I don't struggle with bright things without sunglasses?
