>hearing them say "Good job" would send me into epilepsy That's a you problem.

"I recognize your efforts" sounds more to me like "I know you're trying, but…" 😂

I think you have severe issues with… something. Saying good job is the definition of recognizing someone's efforts….

You definitely have issues. Fans telling Hailey "good job" are also not her friends. They are fans. They may have a parasocial relationship, but they still don't know these people. As for you, a friend saying "good job" is pretty much the same longer sentence you typed just with fewer words. Same point and same intention is there. Not everyone is going to write you a sonnet when a quick phrase also works.

As someone who doesn't experience internal validation, me. I want to hear I did a good job for going to the gym. I don't find it remotely rewarding and have to force myself to go. So yeah, friends do tell friends "good job".

Just be happy you have anyone in your like that cares enough to tell you good job. Complaining about support? I couldn't imagine.

by Akeemberge 1 week ago

The text you wrote makes no sense with that title and yes, this is a you problem

What lmao

If only there was some short 2 word way to convey info like that. I think "good job" would work.

‘Good job' to me anyway, means the same as ‘I know it's been hard and I recognise the effort'

by jakobtorphy 1 week ago

Weird. I tell friends "Good job!" And "I'm proud of you!" all the time. None have ever been sent into epileptic fits. Most of beamed and said "Thank you!" And they've done the same to me.

Oh I'm sorry, are people not supporting you with the exact same words that you want, although it means pretty much the same thing as what you'd like to hear except to you it isn't the same but only because of an imaginary lack of respect that you and you alone imagined in your own head? I don't know how you'll survive this.

You'd be sent into epilepsy by someone saying "good job" to you? Man, take a step back and think about what you're saying. It's really not that deep
