Seriously I don't get it. My fiancée hates jeans too and I don't even notice how uncomfortable they are. First thing she does when she gets home is put on sweat pants and balks at me for not changing. I don't even notice.
by United_Video72892 weeks ago
I started wearing "soft" jeans from the Gap and accidentally ordered a regular pair. Was aghast at the material. I'm on Zoom calls, not trying to shoe a horse.
by chauck2 weeks ago
I'm guessing you're male and your fiancée is female? I think women's jeans are cut in a less comfortable way.
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
I'm a transman and I hated the fit on women's jeans despite being born with a female body. Loose in weird spots, tight in weird spots, even gave me UTIs. Women need to just go buy jeans from the men's sections.
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
Yea your assumptions are correct. That does make sense
by United_Video72892 weeks ago
Does it though? Men tend to have squishier balls than women.
by Routine_Debt2 weeks ago
Maybe I'm just a tiny-testicle lib, but jeans don't really push on my balls. At least if I'm not wearing skinny jeans, which, since 2020 or so, I don't.
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
Yeah but men's jeans tend to be looser fitting. Like I needed pants the other day and my only option for the store i was at was skinny jeans. (never again) they fit me great in the waist, so so in the crotch and upper thighs but then insanely tight in the calves, so much so that with every step, every knee bend its slowly rolling the pants down and I'm constantly battling against it by having to hoist and shimmy them back up every 10 mins. Of course the style of cut matters like boot cut is my spot because it tends to fit better in most places but when I was a teen I was super Tom boy and mostly wore men's clothes and the jeans were just more comfortable overall.
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
I have a similar issue with skinny jeans too! If they fit in the waist they're loose on my crotch and/or thighs. And they're almost always tighter on my calves, which pulls my pants down with every step too. I usually end up with jeans too tight on my waist, because otherwise I've got a weird combo fits, loose, tight that lets my calves pull my pants down quicker lol. I think jeans are made for only one combo of body parts, and if you don't have that, eff you.
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
Yeah, but men's jeans are way comfier. I'm female, but wear mens jeans because they fit so much better and are better material.
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
Women's jeans seem to be 90% elastic though. I love my good old denim jeans. Wear them every day comfortably
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
Anyone that doesn't immediately change into comfy house clothes regardless of what they wear out is a psycho. Sorry it's a fact.
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
I find my normal clothes plenty comfy. I don't even own sweat pants or whatever, don't see the point. I've heard people say what you've said and wonder what part of their body is so uncomfortable in their regular clothes. Is a waist band thing?
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
I think properly fitting jeans are perfectly comfortable. Obviously sweatpants are comfier, but jeans that fit well are totally acceptable
by Empty_Pen2 weeks ago
I agree. I think this person is unknowingly wearing jeans that are too small
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
They require a break in period. After that, they are amazing, if you find the right pair. I almost cried when my old 569s wore out
by Automatic_Pickle67942 weeks ago
Seriously, I have jeans broken in that feel like sweatpants
by Nice-Intention2 weeks ago
IMO, anything that requires "breaking in" or is an "acquired taste" just sucks and people force themselves to like it. Notable examples include beer and baseball mitts.
by Interesting-Court1492 weeks ago
Agreed. Jeans suck.
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
I still have a couple pair that are not too bad. Overall, I do better with a slacks as they are much more comfortable.
by hartmannoscar2 weeks ago
I mean they're not as comfy as sweatpants or shorts of course, but they aren't really that bad as long as they aren't the skin tight ones.
by Asleep-Intention-7352 weeks ago
You are not alone. I also have this problem. I think also the fabric was softer years ago.
by Equivalent_Theme_2952 weeks ago
I hate jeans lol so I agree with you
by lueilwitzcaleig2 weeks ago
How do they not fall off
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
I usually buy close to my waist size maybe an inch over if I'm feeling fat, but I typically wear a belt as well.
by Living_Praline12612 weeks ago
Man here, so the answer might be different for your body, but baggy jeans hang off of my hips (often with a belt just above the hips, below my "waist," giving some extra support). Same idea as a skirt or shorts (assuming you don't wear tight shorts).
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
Not everything has to be comically comfortable, otherwise we'd all be running around in rabbit fur underwear.
by Swiftcaroline2 weeks ago
I guess so, but jeans are usually casual anyway. That's why I said I'd rather wear leggings or sweatpants if the goal is being comfortable while still being somewhat fashionable.
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
Haven't worn jeans in 15 years. Don't like the look and they're uncomfortable. And expensive to boot.
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
THANK YOU YES
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
jeans do suck but tbh the most perfect pair for me were true religion jeans they fit me so perfectly
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
I've replaced jeans with Lululemon ABC style pants, from Lululemon and other brands. Way more comfortable.
by Reynoldsmarcelo2 weeks ago
I have jeans as comfortable and soft as my comfy pajamas.
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
I agree in general, but it varies based on the specific pair of jeans. I can't stand most of them but a few are very nice.
by jordy622 weeks ago
The most comfortable Jeans for me are Levi's, otherwise they can be too skinny and uncomfortable
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
I know…never met anyone named Jean that I liked.
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
Relaxed fit is the key
by Agreeable-Outside2 weeks ago
Stretchy jeans for the win. Old jeans I can agree with
by TraditionalCancel7322 weeks ago
Gotta get a pair with ample space in the crotch and across the seat with legs wide enough to not be skin-tight when seated.
by matt012 weeks ago
I recently learned that jeans are treated as informal clothes and that in a lot of businesses they are only allowed on "jeans Fridays" and I just about died. Why would I want to wear jeans? I'm in complete agreement on this one.
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
Have my updoot. I really love jeans. I basically live in them. The less stretch they have, the better. I work a manual labor job, and if I'm not wearing jeans, I'm wearing Duluth flex firehose cargo pants. I think different clothes fit different body shapes in different ways. I have found very few brands of leggings that don't give me cameltoe, which I find extremely uncomfortable, while a lot of other women don't seem to have that problem at all.
by bettiekoch2 weeks ago
i agree. i hate jeans. i dont even own any pair anymore
by Layla142 weeks ago
I haven't worn a pair of jeans since I was old enough to buy all my own clothes and replace what I inherited. Running on 15 ish years, and I'm not EVER looking back.
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
Jeans are the worst type of pants in existence imo. I would literally rather wear dress pants in a casual setting than jeans. I tried to like them, I got a baggier fit, I got the soft denim jeans - nope. Hate them all. But more often than not I'll opt to wear a dress regardless of the setting's formality
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
Dresses are actually pretty comfortable, except for bodycon ones.
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
Get ready for the people who think you can't dislike jeans unless you're fat lol
by barrettharvey2 weeks ago
I'm fat and I don't dislike jeans so theory squashed
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
The jeans are squashed too.
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
You think you're a pretty funny guy, eh?
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
No, but the joke was.
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
I am actually underweight, but still hate jeans lol
by Timely_Aide9292 weeks ago
I feel like if you're really skinny it would probably actually be less comfortable since it would poke your bones because there is nothing to cushion them lol.
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
If you're fat, wouldn't you just wear a bigger size anyway? I don't get what that has to do with it.
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
Exactly! I think a lot of people are just fat phobic and look for any excuse to be insulting. I also think jeans are really uncomfortable but it's more because of the way they feel on my skin, not because they're tight but because of the way denim feels (to me!!!) Getting home and taking any denim off is the best feeling
by barrettharvey2 weeks ago
I never get how jeans (some kind of trousers designed to work in) became so popular for casual things. Or even mandatory for people like teachers (at least in most german kindergartens) when sweatpants arent only more comfortable but also more healthy for you
by Impossible-Match-2482 weeks ago
You'll never catch an Italian in sweatpants because they're so damn ugly in every variety.
by More_Bit48012 weeks ago
I am literally wearing sweatpants that look like jeans right now. A coworker even said that my jeans looked good and i was like "no they are sweatpants, way more comfy" so how can sweatpants look like good jeans when they are 'so damn ugly in every variety'.
by Impossible-Match-2482 weeks ago

Good thing I'm not Italian, so I don't care about what Italians think lol.
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
This is why it's embarrassing to be an American sometimes. We have no pride in the way we dress.
by More_Bit48012 weeks ago
There are fashionable clothes other than jeans. Jeans aren't even fancy anyway.
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
True. I'm just envisioning every lazy American in Walmart wearing ugly, unattractive sweatpants. It's such a stark contrast to what you see the general population wear in Europe. Jeans are fine. It's more about the overall hygiene and effort of the person wearing them.
by More_Bit48012 weeks ago
Just depends on the jeans for me.
by Prestigious_Horse4842 weeks ago
I don't get this, i wear jeans 90% of the time. Maybe try a bigger size if they feel too tight?
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
Even in the right size, they are too uncomfortable. And if they're too big, they'll fall off.
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
ever heard of a belt
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
I haven't worn jeans in about 15 years. I love the comfort of my Dickies.
by Isaias842 weeks ago
I feel that it's a younger people thing. As I got a bit older I couldn't stand jeans even though I used to wear them all the time. Even nice tighter pants that fit well make me want to crawl up the wall. I can't stand the tightness and fabric. If the material is stretchy I can stand a bit tight but my legs muscles end up being locally sore or burning. Maybe it's a medical issue? Or maybe it's the "skinny jeans" fashion. Dude, I was skinny like 90 pounds in my 20s and still couldn't get their smallest sizes on. That's around the time I gave up. The ones that are not skinny are hard to find, super baggy or mommy jeans- just don't fit right.
by Raedicki2 weeks ago
Try Texas Press jeans… it's like silk (ish). Source : work in a DryCleaning store.
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
Gotta find the right cut, is all. Levi's has a ton, and once I found the 541 cut, they're the only jeans I've bought ever since.
by Antonia222 weeks ago
I sleep in my jeans sometimes
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
Jeans are great until you need to get something out of your pocket while you're sitting down
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
My origin USA Delta flex jeans feel amazing. I sometimes sleep with them on. I mean to each there own but unless you've worn exclusively bad quality jeans, idk how you could dislike their feel.
by Suspicious-While2 weeks ago
Guarantee you've never had a good fitting and or good quality pair of jeans.
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
Get the American Eagle stretch jeans. Total game changer.
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
I got 3 perfect pairs of blue jeans. They go with my casual shoes or boots. With a nice t shirt
by Right-Layer2 weeks ago
Around the house or just running a quick errand - sure I'll wear sweats or leggings. But if I'm going somewhere - even our little corner bar for a meal and a beer with my husband - I'll wear jeans. I have several well fitting pairs. It takes some time and try-ons before you find ones that fit they way you like. I prefer a mid-rise because I have a short torso and high waist jeans are uncomfortable because of where they sit. A straight leg or boot leg work best on me but baggy fit jeans can work though they're not super flattering on me. To me jeans go with nearly everything I own and depending on the wash and the cut, can be acceptable nearly everywhere I go - dressed up or down.
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
To broadly generalize, there are three criteria that an article of clothing will attempt to satisfy: Appearance Comfort Durability Denim jeans are pretty good at all three of those. Most people should own at least one pair of jeans for those occasions where all three of those criteria need to be addressed. That said, if you only need to fulfill one or two of those criteria, there are other articles of clothing that will be more than "pretty good" than denim jeans are, so people who can sacrifice one or two of the other criteria may prefer to wear some other kind of pant
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
I agree. I'm so sick of them too. I don't feel put together in them. I feel like I just threw something on, or like I got off a shift on the railroad
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
I haven't worn them for 20 years, either hiking pants or corduroy for me.
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
I live in Houston and there is nothing worse than being caught out in jeans on a hot, humid day. Peeling sweaty, skintight jeans off at the end of the day is so unpleasant. I switched to flowy, elastic-waist linen pants year-round and I don't know if I'll ever wear another pair of jeans.
by Perfect_Sample27642 weeks ago
Only ever worn jeans once. And that was dragged into them kicking and screaming by my mum, on the promise that if i didn't like them i would never have to wear them ever again. And i haven't. Horrible things. Also, people rebel against uniforms at school, and the first thing they want to do is wear the jeans uniform that everyone else wears. I don't get it.
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
I really like my jeans, I wear them all the time. I don't even own sweatpants anymore. I would even say skinnier or tighter jeans are more comfy as there just feel like a second skin.
by Beautiful_Coyote2 weeks ago
I agree. Not a fan of jeans lol
by Bitter_Squash_34402 weeks ago
Stretchy jeans exist. Stretchy enough that you could comfortably squat or exercise in them. They are more expensive but worth it.
by Cautious-Climate2 weeks ago
Depends on the jeans. I work at McDonalds, and the jeans that they give us are some of the most comfortable jeans I've ever worn.
by walkergardner2 weeks ago
They make me feel claustrophobic, like they're restricting my movement
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
Maybe I'm weird, but I like pants that are a bit more stiff. I don't like how sweatpants shift around and don't move with my legs.
by maegan202 weeks ago
my jeans are very comfortable idk what everyone is on about?
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
Honestly this experience made me realize I wasn't actually fitting into the jeans I bought. Jeans that truly fit are not uncomfortable. Just because it zips don't mean it fits. I can be super comfortable in some bag jeans that actually fit
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
I only wear them, precisely cause they're slightly uncomfortable. If I feel to comfortable, I feel sleepy and depressed. That's not everyone though
by Ariannajakubows2 weeks ago
"I cant find comfortable jeans so that means theyre all bad"
by Anonymous2 weeks ago
OP. You should try salad
by NewTransportation2 weeks ago
Jeans are great. Your body is terrible. But seriously, maybe youre trying to wear the wrong size, or try different brands that are cut differently. Not sure your opinion is even unpopular.
by Jazzlike-Carry-41732 weeks ago
Your body is terrible. Wow thanks lol.
by Anonymous2 weeks ago

by Jazzlike-Carry-41732 weeks ago
Well-fitting non-stretch jeans mog every other piece of clothing. It's a shame almost everything on the market is slim, low-rise, stretchy garbage.
