First and business class flights should not exist, amirite?

Yeah it wouldn't bring the price down for anyone else, business and first class pay a lot more money.

Exactly. Premium economy and then business is where most money is made by airline.first is the halo product. Economy is something the requireme to fill plane and enough route is serviceable. They profitability is as per business class.

The premium paid by 1st class is much higher than the cost of the economy seats you could put in the same space. 1st class international is like printing money.

They actually make your flight cheaper. Business class and first class seats charge way more per square foot than economy. It's where most of the margin is. I think first class is stupid tbh, but business class is def worth it on some really long flights if you can afford it.

It is comical that you think first class is caviar and champagne. I suppose it could be, depending on airline. Mostly it is not touching the person seated next to you and having leg room. Oh, and a small glass of mediocre wine.

Business and first class passengers make more for the airline than the economy seats that would fill the space. I don't ‘need' business class but it is much more comfy than tourist and it's worth it to me.

Guess you don't know that on mainstream airlines, low coach class fares are possible due to the high price of first and business class. In any case, all coach class budget airlines already exist: Spirit, Frontier, Southwest, Ryanair, Easyjet, etc. I agree that nobody needs a flying hotel room with caviar and champagne, but many people want that. Why should I downgrade my lifestyle for you?
