+2 Vegans that "haven't craved meat for x years" are liars and hypocrites, amirite?

by Jayda24 6 days ago

I HATED burger when i ate meat, felt disgusting and not delicious at all. I absolutely LOVE vegan burgers and crave them all the time. You say yourself that vegan tuna and tuna are not the same. So your friend loves vegan tuna and does not like tuna. Just like you like tuna and don't like vegan tuna. It is not the same thing and does not mean they crave fish.

Why do you refuse to understand that vegetarians/vegans (not all but a lot of us) are repulsed by the idea of eating a dead animal. Eating something that LOOKS meat is totally different.

by Decent-Present1246 6 days ago

I mean couldn't they just mean that their cravings are satiated by the fake meat? That it's good enough for them and they don't actually crave the real thing anymore?

by Anonymous 6 days ago

I think you just don't like that some people don't miss meat

by Michealsauer 6 days ago

Not at all, I was vegetarian for 4 years and can understand that after a while, you just don't miss it anymore. I just don't understand how some people can say they are repulsed and don't miss meat at all, and borderline shame others for eating meat, but then eat the alternatives to meat

by Jayda24 6 days ago

Huh?

by Michealsauer 6 days ago

Ur probably one of the people they're talking about.

by Thin-Preparation 6 days ago

I'm legitimately not😅I just don't like when people assume everyone has the same outlook on life as they do. It's arrogant, egotistical, and annoying. Bit like you assuming someone can only disagree with someone if they're feeling targeted.

by Michealsauer 6 days ago

Uh, you do know those fake meat alternatives taste nothing like real meat right? They could absolutely just like the taste of the fake meat and not have any cravings for real meat.

by Anonymous 6 days ago

I'm not a vegan, but I prefer the taste of vegetarian chicken nuggets to real chicken nuggets. Now that one is probably an unpopular opinion hahaha

by Anonymous 6 days ago

not at all, i started enjoying nuggets when i became vegan. and never like chicken nuggets before

by Impressive-Unit1358 6 days ago

An opinion is vegetarian nuggets are better than chicken nuggets. What you stated was simply a preference.

by Anonymous 6 days ago

You're alone in that one, mate.

by yorn 6 days ago

Definitely not something I agree with. I can't stand vegetarian alternatives. They taste so bad to me lol

by Anonymous 6 days ago

Diet and zero sugar alternatives often taste almost nothing like the original, yet it's close enough to satiate a craving

by cartwrightroyal 6 days ago

I definitely read this as vaginas at first. Which would also be an unpopular opinion lol

😂😂

Sorry to hurt your feelings but no, I don't crave meat and I eat fake meat products all the time. I did though. In the first few months of being vegetarian, about 20 years ago.

by Motor_Clerk_9134 6 days ago

Yeah this is dumb

by Paxton04 6 days ago

You can be physically repulsed by meat without shaming others Also yes I love my vegan nuggets, and I crave them, because I know that its chickpeas, soy or whatever. Not dead flesh. The idea of eating meat is repulsing to me, not eating something that looks like meat! Also, been vegetarian for 10 years, since I was 12. I forgot how it tastes.

by Decent-Present1246 6 days ago

Or they just don't put food as such a high priority to feel anything besides "am hungry"? I'm no vegan, but most of the time i just feel indifferent to food. The only exceptions are when the food's so bad it's impossible not to have a reaction.

by Anonymous 6 days ago

I have no problem with WHAT people eat. I just don't at all understand shaming others for eating meat, claiming that it's disgusting and vile tasting just to go and eat something that is meant to taste the same 🤷🏼‍♀️

by Jayda24 6 days ago

protein source

by langriley 6 days ago

I mean most meat alternatives have less protein per portion than chickpeas, beans and lentils.

by Jayda24 6 days ago

why do you know so much about veaganry and their nutritions?

by langriley 6 days ago

Not sure if you know this but people that eat meat can also eat chickpeas, lentils and beans, regardless of whether or not they're vegan. Is it a crime to want to be educated on nutritional values of foods that can be incorporated into any diet?

by Jayda24 6 days ago

yes. it is criminal activity.

by langriley 6 days ago

Why do you care so much about what other people put in their mouths?

by Anonymous 6 days ago

Vegans are just closeted carnivores. You strand them on an island full of rabbits, and they'll eat meat. Ego goes out the window when you're starving.

by Rhiannabotsford 6 days ago

I think that pretty much goes for all diets 😂😂

by Jayda24 6 days ago

I'm not vegan, but I never "craved meat". Sounds weird

by Anonymous 6 days ago

I saw this one actress speech on veganism when I was a kid, she was saying after years of not eating meat she started to crave vegetables instead and that her taste buds became way more sensitive but idk that's just one anecdotal story

by Alarmed_Pin_2860 6 days ago

That makes sense, I can completely understand meat grossing you out. And I'm glad that meat alternatives are able to satisfy those cravings. Don't you find them too similar? When I was vegetarian I could sometimes get really freaked out and paranoid at the chicken alternatives as it tasted way too similar! I was convinced that it was actual chicken and not vegetarian.

by Jayda24 6 days ago

Very true. I'm vegetarian, and sometimes I feel those cravings. I just don't act upon them due to reasons which are not important to anyone else but me (not particularly why I do replacements, some of them even feel a bit off, but they are very convenient sources of protein). I'd only argue that this opinion is only unpopular among vegans haha

by Cornellheidenre 6 days ago

hear ye hear ye - we have important things to discuss today

by Anonymous 6 days ago

I didn't even know vegan tuna was a thing so I'm kinda just laughing at that. I'll agree that's slightly ridiculous and sounds repulsive, but somehow I doubt it smells anything like fish.

by Anonymous 6 days ago

It smelt like someone made the smell of fish without ever having smelt it if that makes sense
