+68 It *is* okay to tell people how to raise their children, amirite?

by Anonymous 4 days ago

When someone is doing something that risks the health and safety of the child it is absolutely not wrong to call it out.

They say the truth hurts at the end of the day, they do a better job at raising their kids... Their responsibility

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Nope. If youre doing something stupid/harmful you deserved to be judged. Judgement is what motivates change.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

If you are raising a monster, it's everyones problem.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Thank you for standing up for those kids!

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Some people make a career out of it

by Anonymous 4 days ago

No children, obsessed with telling others how to raise their children. Goes nuclear when you ask if she/he is sure about not wanting children.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

And if you think the kid is being harmed, it is your responsibility to report it. Don't give the benefit of a doubt.

So many parents here not willing to listen…

by BeautifulAward8064 4 days ago

Eh, I'm an advocate of mind your own business unless asked or the child/children are actually in harm's way.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Yes, a common bystander.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Abuse apologist.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

So, are you just interpreting words using your own definitions?

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Yeah I think we can all agree that if a child is getting hit, that's bad. Why waste your breath telling that parent anything just call the cops?? As for "not engaging" or "not paying attention" those are literally things that a village is supposed to help with. If you aren't willing to help a parent engage and watch their child, you aren't part of their village and you need to mind your own business.

Woah be careful, you really should warmup before a stretch like that

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Theres a difference between helping and telling. Helping would be " Oh hey ya know I've been having my kid eat it * lists random healthy food* it can really get your kid in peak shape" to a visibly fat kid. Telling would be " Man I'm so sorry your kid is so overweight get that boy on a diet". Its rude unnecessary and stressful.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

No, unless children are being abused and at that point you need to intervene by notifying safeguarding services

by Fancy_Touch 4 days ago

You want to lend a hand, be part of the village go for it. You want to have an opinion? Stfu.

by Human_Original_7000 4 days ago

I have a right to publicly abuse those I'm responsible for!!!

by Anonymous 4 days ago

This smacks of a boomer who was finally put in their place.

by Human_Original_7000 4 days ago

To a point I agree.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

People act like their children are their personal property and not human beings that will grow up and need to be part of society.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

You don't have kids,do you?

by Tall_Reserve_8642 4 days ago

Although I don't necessarily disagree with you, good luck with that. If you do this consistently, you"re not going to have any friends left.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Parents who are confident about their abilities don't come unglued when someone offers a suggestion or criticism. If a parent is that unsure of themselves they probably could use the advice however they're probably the least likely to take it

by Anonymous 4 days ago

I suppose this entirely depends upon your relationship with the parent and the child. If you didn't have skin in the game, stfu.

by Tristonblanda 4 days ago

Dam all the abusers are showing up for this one.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

It's incredible how you assume that your overreach isn't also a potential abuse. Guess you're just the greatest and everyone else needs to find out, eh?

by Tristonblanda 4 days ago

If you know the family sure, if they're strangers stfu and mind your business.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

If you make your kid run barefoot over broken glass, I'm going to have some choice words. If you tell them no desert until after dinner, well, that's your prerogative. See the difference.
