+71 Crispy bacon is inferior to soft-cooked bacon, amirite?

by Anonymous 5 days ago

You can pry my crispy bacon out of my cold, dead hands. Not burnt, but well done.

by Anonymous 5 days ago

I can't because it will crumble

by Anonymous 5 days ago

I die in this hill, a hill of crispy bacon… because I was in a bacon hill.

by Anonymous 5 days ago

I'll sit back and enjoy my properly cooked soft bacon 🥓

by Anonymous 5 days ago

So you like Canadian bacon then. Trash.

by Anonymous 5 days ago

I agree. I don't like my bacon crispy, I like it cooked juuuust under that crispy threshold.

by Anonymous 5 days ago

You're 100% correct

by Anonymous 5 days ago

Yeah, where it's not floppy but hasn't crossed the threshold into turning into dust when you eat it.

by Anonymous 5 days ago

I disagree, as long as it's not burnt, I prefer my slices of pig to be hard and crispy.

by Ok_Green_7295 5 days ago

Soft but crispy on the edges is 💯 👌🏻

by Anonymous 5 days ago

Cold crispy bacon is still as delicious. Cold soft bacon is a cold soggy mess.

by Anonymous 5 days ago

Softer bacon for breakfast items, but I prefer thin crunchy bacon for most sandwiches. If it crunches like a Pringle, it's about right.

by Anonymous 5 days ago

I like my meat well done. Suck it!

by Dry-Leg 5 days ago

Besides burnt or raw bacon, is there really a bad kind of pork bacon?

by Catherinehayes 4 days ago

One of my esteemed colleagues and I would refer to well done bacon as "glass" when it was in the lounge. We wouldn't touch it.

by BalanceMaster 4 days ago

That's…not the reason why rare steaks are considered better. And anyway rare is only considered better for lean cuts. The general rule is the fattier something is, the more you cook it, because rendered and/or crispy fat is much nicer than chewy solid fat. And bacon is pretty damn fatty.

by Emergency-Nail9843 4 days ago

Floppy bacon is superior

by Anonymous 4 days ago

The more fat a meat has the more cooked you cook it.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

I like my bacon to be crispy but not burnt, it has to be cooked to the point where when I bite it, just the tiniest bit of pressure makes the piece of bacon shatter into bacon dust in my mouth.

by Conscious_Pickle1832 4 days ago

Unpopular indeed! Bacon fat should be crisp enough to melt like cotton candy in your mouth.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

The degree of bacon doneness would have been a major compatibility issue possibly leading to cancellation of the wedding had my husband and I not been on the same page. Thankfully, neither one of us likes crispy bacon. 😁

by Rudyoconnell 4 days ago

I like mine damn near charred

by Anonymous 4 days ago

You can make bacon crispy without burning it ya goof.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Lmao British ass

by Adept_Education_9108 4 days ago

Pro tip: keep your bacon out at room temperature for about 15min before cooking your bacon. That helps the fat and the meat cook more evenly and thoroughly. Then you can have crispy bacon without burning it.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

I loooove chewy bacon 🤤

by Wild_Growth 4 days ago

Crispy bacon and well done steaks for me thanks.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Meat fat triggers my gag reflex every time, need that cooked out as much as possible

by Peichmann 4 days ago

Soft cooked bacon ftw!

by Minute_Zombie8654 4 days ago

Enjoy the trichomoniasis.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Judging by the way they cook the bacon at 5 guys, I think this is a popular opinion

by Camilla94 4 days ago

Agreed. Crispy bacon is for losers.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Huge difference between burnt bacon and crispy bacon.

by MedicalGas 4 days ago

Slimy soft bacon is truly disgusting.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Seconded. Soft bacon has way more flavor

by Anonymous 4 days ago

I agree. I like it slow roasted in an oven until cooked but not crisp at all. It gets a great consistency that literally melts in your mouth yet slightly chewy. yum.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Agree, soft cooked flimsy bacon all day baby. When we go out for breakfast, I don't order the bacon because 99% of the time it's too overcooked for me. If I want it, I have to cook it myself.

by predovicbuster 4 days ago

You should go to Europe. Limp bacon everywhere. Its so good

by Cheyennereilly 4 days ago

If you're cooking bacon in a pan, in the words of Chef John: "If the bacon is foamy, it's almost done, homey". That means it's about to be perfectly crispy but not overdone. Words to live by.

by omer64 4 days ago

Crispy on the edges fatty on the middle is perfect

by ImpressiveContext 4 days ago

Take my bacon out of your mouth. Blasphemy

by Longjumping-Ball-225 4 days ago

Yep, 100% agree. I had a guy stay with me for a bit recently and I usually make eggs and bacon for breakfast every day and was happy to cook for him as well. He quickly took it upon himself to "show me how it's done" and cooked six times as much bacon until it was crispy carbon. We very quickly finished what was usually a pretty steady supply for my breakfasts and I just ate muesli until he left

by Expert_Buddy 4 days ago

Unrendered fat is disgusting. Who wants to gnaw on gristly fat (besides this guy apparently)?

by Anonymous 4 days ago

I ain't about biting into a half cooked piece of pig ANYTHING. I'll pass on parasites, thanks. Baked in the oven is how you do it right.

by Status_Service 4 days ago

I like the bacon soggy, so I'm with you

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Floppy bacon all day

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Go to a hole and fall in for your outrageous lies.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Get it just hot enough for the fat to start dripping and it's perfect!

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Please don't make me eat soft bacon

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Anybody that eats crispy bacon may as well just eat a unwashed asshole. 🤷🏼

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Personally I'd say back bacon is better soft, but streaky bacon is better crispy (not burnt) or just under crispy.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

It should shatter if you drop it.

by EffectiveBad329 4 days ago

That really is an unpopular opinion

by Academic-Bag-7616 4 days ago

When i was a kid my mom told me if bacon is undercooked then ill get worms in my b hole. Ive been a crispy guy ever since

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Glad someone feels the same way

by UsedAd8464 4 days ago

I agree with this

by Anonymous 4 days ago

You are totally mad.

by Maleficent_Safety 4 days ago

100000% agree. I want meat to have meat consistency. I don't want my meat in potato chip form.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

When you right you right

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Hard agree. I'd rather not be eating leather

by Rachael40 4 days ago

No bacon is inferior to bacon, any style.

by briachristianse 4 days ago

begone heratic

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Just say you don't know how to render bacon properly and move on.

by Calm_Ad8778 4 days ago

I like my bacon like I like dicks, floppy.

by elvis51 4 days ago

Med-rare to medium for steak, same for bacon.

by tremayne22 4 days ago

It should be crispy but not crumbling apart. There needs to still be some flexibility in it.

by New_Cardiologist8818 4 days ago

I think breakfast sausage is superior to bacon on a whole. It's too geasy and is too much of a hassle to clean up after cooking bacon.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

It's a big difference between crispy and burnt. And soft bacon is just so slimy and too soft. Bacon is already pretty much half fat, so cooking it soft makes the fat more pronounced. But hey you do you lol. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

True

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Preach

by Naive_Leopard_5502 4 days ago

Completely agree

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Bacon is disgusting

by sengercarlie 4 days ago

I agree, soft, juicy, greasy bacon, dripping with delicious bacon grease is absolutely luscious, incredibly slurpable and has far more of a meaty texture to it, I love to get this kind of bacon with some Overeasy eggs with a runny yolks, and dip the bacon in the yolk, and then slurp all that goodness up!

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Hard agree

by Anonymous 4 days ago

I agree 100%

by destineekozey 4 days ago

Team soft bacon!!!
