+71 You should only keep books that you'd like to re-read again, amirite?

At least you don't buy a bunch of books then don't read them

This is the only reason I ever kept books, mostly because back in the day I read almost exclusively library books. If I loved something and wanted it around forever that's when it got bought!

A lot of people do that. Why are you telling other people they should be doing a thing you don't do? That's weird.

I reread them. I get others in the house to read them. I may go a long time between reads. There are many I haven't reread yet or read in a long time. Doesn't mean I can't have them around. There's nothing wrong with keeping books.

This isn't so much an unpopular opinion as like. IDK, a difference in how people experience books. I honestly do not know if I want to reread books again the first time I read them.

I think having a little home library looks nice

For some graphic novels digital formatting can mess them up. You are welcome to read on a tablet if you prefer it, but I wanted to point that out.

While I do reread my favorite books, if I like them it's nice to have them on the shelf, it's like presenting a part of myself to anyone who sees them

I collect books I love, I could reread them sure but they're mostly I OWN THIS YAY

I agree, but I think it's okay if there are months or even years between the readings.
