+40 Can't stand the expression " IYKYK", amirite?

by Anonymous 4 days ago

OP secretly trying to sum up he hated acronyms. It's a whole world of simplicity iykyk

by Cute-Principle-6933 4 days ago

It's an initialism not an acronym. ;)

by Connellyvernice 4 days ago

Ikr. Iykiykyk it's just easier to say iykyk than if you know, you know.

by EconomicsVisual1073 4 days ago

Well how do I kiyk without kyk that ikyiyk

by Cute-Principle-6933 4 days ago

If you ykyk and someone dkwykyki, then iykyk it is your task to make sure they kyk

by EconomicsVisual1073 4 days ago

Well he actually has said he hates initialisms

by Anonymous 4 days ago

OP still doesn't "know"

by Anonymous 4 days ago

You know, they say, "if you have to ask, you'll never know." Starting to believe OP asked.

If you know you know

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Not even necessarily inside jokes. I see it as basically an FYI that also implies more context you don't feel like going into rn. Basically like "here's enough information for you to look it up yourself if you want to." For instance, "the only way I could access my machine was to use a different tty console (IYKYK)..."

by nyasiarunolfsso 4 days ago

Sounds like someone's mad they are never in the know

by Slow-Car-1577 4 days ago

I hardly ever see this used

by TackleWonderful8792 4 days ago

For those of us who hate these inscrutable abbreviations: IYKYK = If you know, you know

by Pleasant-Parsley1539 4 days ago

Hard agree. I haven't heard it a ton but most of the times I heard it, it was from someone talking out their ass, particularly upward-failing nepo babies.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

I definitely see people using it either for things that literally everyone knows or something that they're actually incorrect about more than I see people using it for what you'd think would be the intended time.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

I don't even know what that is. Nice

by NaturalAd 4 days ago

Yup, all over used expressions likes this get tired and annoying

by Anonymous 4 days ago

ikr

by Sengerpete 4 days ago

Iykyk idc dw

by Anonymous 4 days ago

I don't even know what that means. I've never seen it before 😂

by Anonymous 4 days ago

I think most people who say this are just joking around. My friends and I jokingly say "you wouldn't get it" to each other all the time

by Anonymous 4 days ago

I find the excessive overuse of acronyms to be annoying in general. I also kind of find it slightly amusing that the older I get, the less I tolerate those annoying personalities (joys of being busy and hobbies leave little time for things or people that suck I suppose).

by Careless_Falcon 4 days ago

Yeah, not crazy about those either

by Anonymous 4 days ago

I guess OP doesn't know.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

You must not know

by Anonymous 4 days ago

Are you stuck in like 2016 or something or maybe kids these days use It a lot, idk but I have never seen that being overused, not even used at all online actually.

by Anonymous 4 days ago

This is what you get upset about? You're either 13 or 65, and whatever it is, go outside.
