Kid is a relative word. If you are 20, talking to a 10 year old.....you are talking to a kid. If you are 50, talking to a 25 year old...you are talking to a kid. At my work, there is an 85 year old who calls me, a 60 year old, kiddo. I take it as a generational compliment. When you are older, it won't bug you like it does while you are young.

Makes sense, I also find it weird that kid is used to diss on someone in videogames. Mostly when they're getting shat they end up saying "Who is this kid?", "Someone sit this kid down", like are they acknowledging that a child is better than them?
