Open world video games should use the same worlds multiple times, amirite?

Yakuza constantly reuses assests and all games are at least good

That what DLC used to be.

I like how Fable takes place in the same world, different times yes, but you can see many of the same places throughout the games

A lot of them do. Red Dead Redemption was a massively bigger map than the first game. TES is set in the same world and there is crossover.

Depends on the world. For the same series, sure, if they can pull it off without making it feel stale and it works with the plot. But if it gets to the point where every world from a developer feels like the same old template, regardless of the actual game, it's a problem.

I think they should vary but the map size should be smaller so there is less useless space.

wouldnt that get boring quickly?

I disagree. I was extremely disappointed with how little changed in the base hyrule.

wtf did u expect to change??

There's a ton you can change. The whole world could be split into rifts so that they're giant sky islands. Death Mountain can be frozen over. The desert can be fully flooded into a water zone instead of just one small section. Volcanos can be erupting in Hedra.

Only one I remember is Vice City having the same map as that other GTA game where you start off in the military

The obvious example of this is The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the wild and Tears of the Kingdom. Reused the whole map but made meaningful changes while also adding an underground and sky area.

I don't think the changes to the base hyrule map were nearly meaningful enough.

MMORPGs essentially do this. I agree. I wish this actually was a popular opinion.

I feel like the witcher is Polish enough.

Seeing familiar places change over seems cooler than needlessly big landscapes that's only purpose is to look good in a corporate presentation.
