+64 YouTube Premium is a good deal. amirite?

by Wooden_Program_6919 3 days ago

If you have YouTube Premium why are you paying for Apple Music? The sole reason I am not using Apple Music is because Premium includes Ad free YouTube. Is there a big difference between YouTube Music and Apple Music?

by Holiday-Strain-9863 3 days ago

Youtube Music doesn't offer lossless files. Apple music has by far the best audio quality, way above Spotify which also doesn't provide lossless.

by Emotional-Bet 3 days ago

Tidal?

by Anonymous 3 days ago

People still use Tidal in 2025 ?

by Emotional-Bet 3 days ago

"by far" lol

by Anonymous 3 days ago

Apple Music has lossless playback. YT music has really poor quality playback compared to even Spotify.

by Fun-Part 3 days ago

I actually preferred YouTube music and you get no ads on YouTube win win. But I think certain features on my AirPods only work with Apple Music? I'm not really an audiophile though

by Anonymous 3 days ago

Apple music is the only service that consistently plays songs I haven't heard based on my tastes. Spotify plays the same songs over and over. I'll have to try YT Music. I'd love to switch off if it can perform the same.

by Anonymous 3 days ago

Probably no difference. I've just had Apple Music for 10+ years at this point. Plus not sure how YouTube Music integrates (if at all) with Apple CarPlay. You're right in pointing out it's kinda redundant lol

by Wooden_Program_6919 3 days ago

It works well with Car Play. I use it in my car and it integrates seamlessly and can even be controlled with Siri.

by Holiday-Strain-9863 3 days ago

Yea it's just like every other music streamer. It's totally fine. And already part of YouTube premium. I use it for everything. Music. Videos. Podcasts.

by Anonymous 3 days ago

Yes, there is a difference. Multiple, in fact.

by vivianlind 3 days ago

Yes, Apple is much worse.

by Anonymous 3 days ago

That is not true at all

by Anonymous 3 days ago

We don't need to go over it, you know that's not true.. Apple Music is worse than youtube as a music platform? 🤣 how?

by vivianlind 3 days ago

I like YouTube premium and have had it for years but I don't agree it's a good deal as I think it's about $5 overpriced per month, if it was under $10 I wouldn't complain

by Anonymous 3 days ago

Snag a family plan split it with 5 friends

by One-Kitchen 3 days ago

YT Premium is $3 more a month than Spotify Premium, which I'd say is the standard music streaming service. Add in that you have no ads in YT at all, I find it worth it. But with all cost analysis it'll depend on how you use it. Actually if you get the family plan and split it with friends it's under $5/month each.

by Augustus76 3 days ago

weird i pay 7€ in slovenia

by Anonymous 3 days ago

$22.99 CAD a month for the family plan.

by Anonymous 3 days ago

I have't seen an ad in youtube in forever either, and I don't pay.

by Anonymous 3 days ago

How do you think it works for people who use premium? Does YouTube not pay them unless someone watches an Ad? If you're concerned by how much they make, maybe you should try convincing YouTube/Google/Alphabet to part with their billions

by Anonymous 3 days ago

I support the ones I like on Patreon. That way I directly support them and not some huge entity that probably gives very little revenue to small creators.

by Broad_Highlight 3 days ago

Same price as Spotify more or less (least where I am) so if you're gonna get a streaming service may as well get ad free YT as well.

by CandidateFeeling 3 days ago

Getting YT music alongside made it a no-brainer for me

by Konopelskialpho 3 days ago

Depends on country also. My friend is paying 27 EUR for family plan where as I'm paying 3.5 EUR. Totally unfair prices.

by Anonymous 3 days ago

Now that's something I can totally agree with. I've seen how wide the gaps in price are depending on region

by Wooden_Program_6919 3 days ago

Because they added a ridiculous amount of ads to free YouTube? Nah.

by Anonymous 3 days ago

My plan has never changed nor have I seen any ads ever so I don't know. It's possible they've added tiers and changed the ad status on those. But I'm just speculating.

by Wooden_Program_6919 3 days ago

Resist? That's a strong word. I've had it for years. YouTube is a service like any other. Something has to fund that service. Google is obligated to make their shareholders money, but how is that any different than anything else in life. They are providing a service, and I am paying for that service. By paying for it I don't have to watch ads and my view still contributes to creators earnings. The price may go up, but once again how is that any different from anything else?

by Wooden_Program_6919 3 days ago

No, they're not, so I guess that answers your question

by Anonymous 3 days ago

They made a lower tier that has ads on some videos, the original YT Premium is the same price.

by Augustus76 3 days ago

No, I'm on premium family plan and haven't seen an advert on YT for years now lol

by Konopelskialpho 3 days ago

They have 2 tiers of premium. Lite and standard. Lite was just no ads where as full was no ads, downloads and background play. They are adding ads to lite but only in music and shorts.

by Coleman17 3 days ago

My family (7 of us) use YT every single day so it is worth it for us to have Premium.

by eliezer03 3 days ago

The main use of it is for TVs, which is where I watch most of my YouTube. So I agree it is a good service.

by Anonymous 3 days ago

It might be worth it but in no way is it a "good deal." You're paying extra for what used to be free, so its a complete scam

by Typical_Respond5978 3 days ago

I think it's a good deal. I use it more than any streaming service and I don't pay for cable.

by Opening-Excuse 3 days ago

You support creators more by watching ads by the way (unless you watch very little YouTube)

by Anonymous 3 days ago

I use yt everyday. Before i had spotify and now started using yt music and i have now youtube premium, support creators and yt music in one

by EstimateAcrobatic695 3 days ago

I had a three month trial through Microsoft. I tell you, you don't half notice when it's gone. The ads are hectic in frequency.

by Anonymous 3 days ago

So the value is you don't see stuff that wasn't even there originally and they just put it in to make you value-buy it away?

by Anonymous 3 days ago

Do you get free movies that you don't get otherwise?

by Substantial-Spell 3 days ago

How long till they start putting ads in their Premium service.

by Anonymous 3 days ago

Whatever YT have can't beat free.

by Anonymous 3 days ago

I'm there with you, I have a YTP family plan and it's great

by Ready-Papaya-6315 3 days ago

Works for me, I have the family plan. I listen to lots of music at work so getting YT music alongside works out great for me, and having up to 5 other accounts on it works for the family.

by Konopelskialpho 3 days ago

I agree! I think a lot of people view YouTube premium wrong - YouTube music is a replacement now for Apple Music/ Spotify and for an extra pound/dollar or two a month - you get ad free YouTube. I do think people have a right to be annoyed that YouTube has become an actively worse experience, if you don't pay for it though (more ads, longer unskippable etc.) But on the flip side, I don't think the average person has any idea the kind of costs involved in running a platform like YouTube.

by Odd_Entertainer9400 3 days ago

YouTube Premium is a good deal. YouTube reVanced is even better.

by Anonymous 3 days ago

I just use smart tube on my fire stick

by Anonymous 3 days ago

It'd an awful deal , 12.99 to get rid of ads, you dont need to watch a video with it minimised and I prefer to purchase my music and actually own it

by Xraynor 3 days ago

I've had YT Premium for like, 6 or 7 years and it's been worth every penny

by Anonymous 3 days ago

When I realised it was a lot cheaper buying it through google than Apple, that was great. Saving like £6

by Phyllis72 3 days ago

It isn't a good deal because I shouldn't have to pay to not have to see riddled long ads that weren't a problem before. Youtube prior wasn't as bad with their ads. But now they are increasing ads per video and making them longer to make more money from ads and push people into premium. With AI it is going to get even worst.

by Live_Advantage 3 days ago

YouTube Revanced is a far better option on mobile unless you want to go offline

by Anonymous 3 days ago

It's good i love it just coz you can get your videos real quick rather than waiting for the ads etc. I have used YouTube music abit but I already have Spotfiy Premium and I prefer that but alone paying £12.99 a month to have no ads and how much quicker is decent.

by Anonymous 3 days ago

Wow. These YouTube Premium ads are getting out of hand now

by Inner_Teaching 3 days ago

I live in Japan and pay 800 yen a month to not have to listen to loud .. obnoxious.. Japanese commercials.. best money ever spent

by Anonymous 3 days ago

If you get the family plan it's more than worth it. Myself and 5 others get as free YouTube for 30 bucks a month

by OwnRefrigerator 2 days ago

YouTube premium on a family plan with a couple of friends - literal best deal out there! I've now tasted ad free and I'm never going back!

by Odd-Studio4256 2 days ago

Mate, after living the premium life, the shock of putting the tube on a regular account, its the stuff nightmares are made of haha

by Konopelskialpho 2 days ago

YouTube premium is way too overpriced. That's why I got SmartTube instead.

by Cassiestanton 2 days ago

Just sideload uYouplus it's free and has more features
