Animal lives don't really matter relative to human lives, amirite?
by leanne713 days ago
If I had to choose between saving you or my dog from drowning, you'd better hope someone else is coming for you.
by Anonymous3 days ago
Simple decision for me.
by Perfect-Owl3 days ago
Humans are animals.
by Civil-Wheel3 days ago
Humans are a higher class though or at least we put ourselves in one.
by Vonruedenbettye3 days ago
What is a "higher class"?
by Anonymous3 days ago
We can make fire and pay taxes.
by Civil-Wheel3 days ago
Speak for yourself
by EconomistNo23203 days ago
Can you not make a fire?
by Civil-Wheel3 days ago
Given tool use, yes! Though even with tool use I fail to pay my taxes
by EconomistNo23203 days ago
I get you are sarcastic but I really wonder what would happen if a "higher class" of aliens showed up and started eating humans and treating them like livestock. Would he be okay with it using this same logic? Something tells me no....
by Anonymous3 days ago
He probably thinks he is a higher class of human as well so he might be a pet instead of livestock.
by Civil-Wheel3 days ago
Every animal sees themself that way, it's all a part of self preservation.
by Civil-Wheel3 days ago
How is this even remotely unpopular when such a small percentage of the population are vegan?
by Anonymous3 days ago
Ask these morons flaming me 🤷
by leanne713 days ago
Psychopath spotted.
by Anonymous3 days ago
The way you think is called "ignorance."
by Anonymous3 days ago
How so? I don't think animals don't matter, but I think on average the life of a human means more than the average animal. If I had to chose between a random puppy and a random baby, I'd chose the baby every time
by Anonymous3 days ago
nah that baby better call their parents cuz I'm saving that puppy
by Infamous-Message58633 days ago
Well everyone would choose that even animal lovers, the question is between random baby and your dog that you had for 10 years.
by SortGlittering3 days ago
I'd still choose the baby.
by Anonymous3 days ago
because animals are innocent in our eyes, not knowing what they're doing, not really having a conscious. it's like a baby dying
by Wrong-Boysenberry5483 days ago
Humans are the most wicked of all the animals
by Anonymous3 days ago
The majority of people have Aristocratic feelings about animals, some animals are WORTHY of life, like their pets, and others are UNWORTHY of life, such as their food. Everyone who eats meat, agrees on this principle. You can say you don't, but your actions prove otherwise. It doesn't matter what you say, it matters what you do.
by Anonymous3 days ago
True and if a higher class of species that proves to be more powerful than us appears such as aliens, then our lives mean nothing compared to their superior power. But I bet most people will be begging for mercy and sympathy from our alien overlords even though they have no reason to listen. Treat others how you want them to treat you. You treat every other form of life as inferior, don't be surprised if you get looked down and left to rot either.
by Anonymous3 days ago
Dogs give you unconditional love.... humans on the other hand normally don't. Tell me again animal lives don't really matter...
by Anonymous3 days ago
Not all dogs do that.
by Vonruedenbettye3 days ago
Terrible opinion. resource depletion is real, we are just another animal, except we don't often serve our wildlife or plant life bc people like you. Most of these animals are becoming threatened/going extinct over time so better appreciate them while they're still around
by Emma943 days ago
Yeah no, if I had to choose my cats over you, you might as well get it over with now. Hell, I don't even know you.
by daytonvolkman3 days ago
So you choose your own comfort over the life of another human?
by Vonruedenbettye3 days ago
Yes. I'm not obligated to save you and you wouldn't even be grateful because you're already heavily assuming i will in fact save you, since it's supposed to be the human thing to do or want to do.
by daytonvolkman3 days ago
? Ok? I feel like you're going for the most low hanging fruit here. I'm obviously far more complex than you would ever see from this interaction.
by daytonvolkman3 days ago
???
by daytonvolkman3 days ago
I guess that went over your head.
by Vonruedenbettye3 days ago
No it didn't, I just don't think it's very accurate to be honest.
by daytonvolkman3 days ago
It's ok to admit it went over your head. It was a play on the sociopathic nature of the conversation.
by Vonruedenbettye3 days ago
Definitely a sociopath 😂
by Vonruedenbettye3 days ago
If you say so, I am what you assigned me as from the start. Another thing is, I don't think you're actually using the serious diagnosis of sociopath correctly either. You should research more about it.
by daytonvolkman3 days ago
Saving someone in front of you and saving the future are two totally different things. If I'm in a flood type situation, I'm saving a human stranger over my animals. That's not what this person is saying.
by Vonruedenbettye3 days ago
That depends heavily on the circumstances of the crisis in hand. Is it convenient and easy to save them? Are there any risks of permanent injury or death? Is the chances of saving them low or high to begin with? Those can heavily influence a person's course of action and isn't as clear cut as your making it. People tend to prioritise the things they care about or are bonded with over random strangers. I'd choose to save my mother over 50 strangers every time no question. Of course thats because any animal I have a bond with is already dead. But some people genuinely see their pets as family, so it's not surprising if they'd prioritise them instead. That's not what this person is saying. No he's saying he's under no obligation to sacrifice something he owns or cherishs for the sake of a person he doesn't know. Which I 100% agree with. If I lose nothing saving you sure I'll give it my best shot, but thats an ideal situation and not often what happens. Okay then how about this. Are you willing to financially bankrupt yourself if it meant saving a stranger? Moneys nothing compared to a sacred human life right?
by Anonymous3 days ago
Yes if someone is in need they've always got a place with me. I've helped plenty of people. Lost jobs helping people that were struggling. You are throwing different variables into the situation that weren't already there. This person simply stated they chose their cats over a person clear cut that's it. You are making it more complicated.
by Vonruedenbettye3 days ago
humans>animals
by joliejohnson3 days ago
That take is so wrong on so many levels.
by SortGlittering3 days ago
How do you know?
by Vonruedenbettye3 days ago
i looked up some stuff and it seems it depends on the animal, i do still believe that any kind of unjustified harm is not good. just that human morals can't be aplicated to the same level to animals due to the lack of clear communication and proper understanding on what goes in their brain. morality is kinda weird to research but i fw it.
by Different_Spray3 days ago
because almost no animal kills or hurts to play. They only ever kill or hurts others to eat or defend themselves.
by Anonymous3 days ago
Not true
by Vonruedenbettye2 days ago
Welcome to surplus killing Most animals only kill in defense and to eat because killing and hunting wastes energy and it's not worthwhile. Some animals kill extra prey for various reasons like being a picky eater, mating/bonding, and fun. But those are definitely predators outliers and definitely not in the way nor quantity that humans do.
by Anonymous2 days ago
"for fun" I mean dolphins and orcas will kill animals just to play with the dead bodies.
by Vonruedenbettye2 days ago
Do you own cats? They'll kill a bird quick just to kill it and play with it. No intent to eat it.
by Vonruedenbettye2 days ago
Do you know how to read or click links? I will assume no, because I said TWICE "most animals" which means "A lot of animals, not all of them", I also wrote "Some animals" which means "Not all animals". In the link that I provided that you can Google, cats (big and small) are one of the few types of animals that engage in surplus killing, ie killing for fun or mating/bonding.
by Anonymous2 days ago
"Fun" is pleasure so therefore animals do get pleasure from killing. Who can't read "pleasre"?
