We have the technology that theoretically we could have world peace for a finite amount of time. amirite?

It's not about tech, it's about power. People will always crave a higher position than others. How that position is doesn't matter at all.

Can't start a war if your country gets turned into a parking lot by thermonuclear weapons to be fair.

Found Ultron. Hi, big fan

Oh no doubt. I mean finite as in like 5 minutes. Or a day. Or a week. Like we could theoretically coordinate it for a relatively sustained period of time, albeit not for good.

If we tried, it would instead be a bloodbath where everyone tries to take advantage of the "worldwide day of peace" by attacking their enemies while their guard is down.

It's always been about money and power and always will be. The only way we'll ever see peace, is to completely remove humans.

Nature isn't peaceful either. Everything in nature kills or benefits from death to survive

Nice try, ai. But joking aside, I don't think people are understanding my meaning. Perhaps I could have worded it better. I'm not saying it's possible to definitively sustain world peace forever. But rather we could theoretically coordinate it for particular periods as in five minutes, days, weeks, etc.

I'm interested on how you think we can obtain world peace using current technology?

We are at the peak of humanity. Other than medical research/climate/food safety/energy we don't need any advancements. But certain countries and people won't let that happen. The human race will be its own downfall.

That's pretty vague without specifying what "technology" you mean. Instant communication? Clean energy? AI?

Cavemen had the technology to have world piece too. Just stay in bed and everything is fine (or cave in their time)

We have the resources that everyone could have somewhere nice to live and more than enough to eat, but the greedy assholes want it all
by Anonymous3 days ago
i agree with this but then ultimately would this not result in mass amounts of people not working as they have everything they need. we would in theory therefore no longer have enough food or the manpower to build enough capacity for the growing population

Like what? Nuking everything, so we have peace for 5 days?
