Once I found out the magician was actually sawing those poor ladies in half, I no longer enjoyed it.

I agree, and I think it's ridiculous when people complain about those showing how to do tricks.

Disagree, but it is unpopular imo. Those sword down the throat tricks are objectively not cooler when you know. It's gone from a guy seemingly swallowing a giant sword to a guy looking upwards while touching a button.

It depends on the trick. If it's something like Penn and Teller's Blast Off sequence, seeing the choreography makes it even more amazing. If it's something as simple as "he took it out of his pocket while you looked at the card" it's kinda disappointing.

That's fine for the illusions, but when they really use magic, there is nothing to reveal. I'll admit it's sometimes difficult to tell when they are actually doing magic vs. just doing an illusion.
