+62 Runny Egg Yolks Are Gross, amirite?

by Anonymous 3 days ago

Notable exception to this rule for dishes where a runny egg yolk is used as a "sauce" So...the reason most of us get a runny yoke?

by Anonymous 3 days ago

Nah man I'm talking about like, when people order eggs sunny side up at a diner and its just a soupy, almost raw egg yolk that spills out all over the plate and not even used to "sauce" anything

I mean, I can't speak for everyone else who does it, but I dip basically everything on that plate in the yoke. I'll eat the whites like normal, but the yoke for for dipping/getting sopped up.

That's why we always call them ‘dipping eggs'. I have been adding them to sandwiches and it's delicious. My only problem is the runny yolks that end up in my beard, but that isn't difficult to wash.

Lmao fair point, I guess I meant "over (blank)" as a way of distingiushing fromy sunny-side up but yeah I get what you're saying

Your palette preferences are not opinions Everyone knows that different people like different flavors and textures.

I think your exception is exactly why people like runny yolks, that's not the exception. The reason a runny yolk on a burger or eggs Benedict etc is great is because the yolk acts as a sauce. You can dip toast in it, it makes sandwiches better, etc. That's not an exception, that's why it's good. I'm not just eating the yolk by itself with a spoon, I'm using it as a sauce to enhance other stuff.

Dipping toast in runny egg is great! But here's another hot take: eggs on burgers are bad. If I want a burger I'm looking for beef + cheese flavour, cut by pickles and onions. The yolk gets in the way of all that IMO. Another exception for egg mcmuffin-type sandwhiches, but I guess egg goes better with sausage/pork than it does with beef

I usually enjoy just a classic cheeseburger with pickles and onions, but sometimes it's fun to switch it up with a sloppy burger with runny egg. Bacon cheeseburgers are great with an over easy egg, the rich yolk goes great with the salty bacon imo. Sometimes a bacon cheeseburger can be dry and overly salty without it

My wife will only eat super runny eggs I can eat runny eggs but greatly prefer cooked through, but barely. A little runny is fine. I am glad that the destruction of the ring has weakened you to the point of being a derp! Stay in the shadows and trouble middle earth no more! May your eggs be runny and your spirit ever wander, gnawing and gnashing yourself in the depths of the world unable to take form again

How is the taste in your mouth hours later?

by Logan41 3 days ago

IDK man its more a texture thing. If I ate a runny yolk in the morning I can still tell later that day; the texture just stays in my mouth somehow. But if it's a little more cooked I don't feel that way

This opinion is very popular , amongst children

Put them on your cheeseburger, it will change your mind, that yolk soaking into the bun is so good

You're gross

Nothing against yolks but if I see one more asshole barehandedly dipping steak strips into his eggs on a cutting board with decorative avocado slices I'm going to cry.

I'll never eat eggs with anything other than a runny yolk.

Egg yolks in general are gross, but I agree when they're runny it's just a food crime.

A nice English breakfast with runny eggs is the best. None of this cooked to the texture of rubber crap.
