He's a train watcher if that helps explain even more

Hey man, so am I, but I played tight end for a football team at least.

Drop the hyperbole and you'll make more convincing arguments. It's not even worth trying to refute your points because you have shown you don't care to put in the energy to understand sports, so you can't be convinced otherwise. Your opinion isn't unpopular, it's just half baked.

well basketball and tennis aren't field sports so… if you can't process the combination of athleticism, teamwork, strategy, and skill for them as it seems you can't, then maybe you just don't like sports
by Anonymous2 days ago
I understand that it takes skill and teamwork, but sports are still stupid, although I do understand why the athletes do it

Run 100m right now
by lenna602 days ago
I sometimes run like 10km just because I'm bored lol, but it's 2330, so no lol
by Anonymous2 days ago
What broke ass country are you watching basketball in?
by Lilianacummings2 days ago
I'm not watching basketball lol (Canada)
by Anonymous2 days ago
They play basketball on a field in Canada?
by Lilianacummings2 days ago
Yeah, I shouldn't have said field lol
by Anonymous2 days ago
Ball hockey isn't played in a field in Canada. Field hockey is, yenno, it's in the name and all
by Anonymous2 days ago
Calling something stupid is a bully tactic- you are insulting those that enjoy watching it. A more mature way to phrase this would be "I don't understand the intrigue of sports."
by Secure_Intention_2752 days ago
Not really, it seems you misread my title as "people who enjoy sports are stupid", I understand and respect that people enjoy them, but I think they are stupid
by Anonymous2 days ago
Bruh. I hate sports, too, but plenty of other people love them. Why the hell should I get worked up that their interests don't align with my own? I mean, if you have socio-economic data to back your ideas up, present it, otherwise your statement has all of the importance to society as me saying that I don't like coconut: it's true, but it doesn't actually affect a damn thing, doesnt make coconut objectively bad, and other people will continue to love the stuff
by Fit_Bar2 days ago
Yeah, I shouldn't have written that like a statement but oh well
by Anonymous2 days ago
Do you like playing games? Do you like perfomers of any kind? So for example do you enjoy watching some movie, theather, being in a concert, seeing someone juggling, playing with fire etc etc. If so, you may understand why many of us like to watch others to do something skillfull, athletic and strategy based. If not, what do you like to watch, or to do?
by Anonymous2 days ago
Yeah, I understand that people enjoy watching sports, I just really can't understand why...
by Anonymous2 days ago
for me personally it's combination of things: first and foremost I like to analyse teams plays, I just love tactics and strategy, maybe that's also because I love boardgames and strategy videogames. So I am trying to understand what are teams intentions being it offensive side or defensive. Secondly I do sports and did it on competitive level, so I know how much work is putted behind it. so I like to watch how others pushing their limits and how they are skillfully utilising their talents. Thirdly I like those little stories that sport games and competition creates. it's like a movie. You ve got betrayals, redemption arcs, big falls because of too much pride etc etc etc Fourthly I like those performances. Sometimes someone do something that isn't necessary to achieve given goal and it's just fun to watch it, since it showcase all of the hardwork and skills.
by Anonymous2 days ago
I suppose I can see that, yeah, but I guess I have been so uninterested that I have never gotten to a point where I have paid attention to things like this, and also, thank you for explaining instead of just insulting me lol
by Anonymous2 days ago
yeah it's so common here to just be snarky, maybe some kind of compensation from irl? lol Anyway, that's exactly why I asked what you specifically like to watch, so maybe I could help you to see some analogies. It's completely normal to not see all of the benefits of something when you are not so invested in it. And everyone has something different that likes to watch. For example I don't u derstand appeal of realityshows, or dancing.
by Anonymous2 days ago
WHAT, you don't understand the appeal of dancing, blah blah blah, you think people who enjoy dancing are dumb blah blah blah... /s People being rude, or even just mildly impolite online is almost always either because of the anonymity of the internet, and there are generally 0 consequences, or just because they are assholes, unlike yourself. (I also have no clue what the point of reality TV shows, but I do like dancing, depending on the day)
