Taking a break from a relationship isn't a bad thing, amirite?

If you need a "break" from your relationship when life gets crazy, you shouldn't be in that relationship. If you can't rely on your partner to help carry the load when the going gets tough, wtf are you in a relationship for?

Let's be real, 90% of the times it happens, the one suggesting the break either wants to brake up, but doesn't want to be the one who does, or just wants to cheat, without technically cheating.

WE WERE ON A BREAK (That's a Friends reference for the younger folks)

It's just a breakup with extra steps.

You're either extremely mature, or extremely naive. Can't tell.

I moved in with this chick and it was tense and there was issues and we had a bit of an upset and I feel she kind of over reacted but I went and got another place in a matter of hours. I said we can keep seeing each other but there is not enough space for us to like live normally and it's much better

Not all "breaks" are made equal, and it's gonna depend heavily on the people involved and the intention behind the break. I definitely know people who broke up and got back together, but I don't know enough to know if it was a "let's take a break" or a "break up". Either way, a lot of people still use "let's take a break" so that they can fool themselves and other people into thinking the relationship still has legs.

Seems like laziness and avoidance to me. I prefer to stay and do the uncomfortable work of sticking together. Relationships aren't easy all the time, and it's working through the hard times that makes it all worth it.
