+61 The reaction Katy Perry had after landing was normal. amirite?

by Fluid_Meaning9225 1 day ago

Nothing about that whole scenario was normal and that's why it got the reaction it did. It was a stunt. An expensive stunt that was blatant hypocrisy.

They literally just sent a few women into orbit and the internet lost its mind

by Anonymous 1 day ago

That situation is more about 1. the many things katy has dont that put a bad taste about her in peoples mouths 2. The bad taste about wealthy people filling into space with all going on in the world and in the usa 3. The weirdness around that whole thing 4. The widening gap between the have and have not

by Odd-Friendship-3946 1 day ago

It is normal, but the fact that she (and other rich people) are able to spend millions doing it in the first place is part of the issue.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

They didn't go to space. They didn't go high enough and 2 I think it was staged

by Anonymous 1 day ago

Why is that an issue?? Like it or not all of these trips funded by these ultra millionaires and billionaires are furthering advancement in space, travel, and exploration. You can look at it as if she is donating money toward this effort.

Air travel by plane was largely restricted to the wealthy and powerful at first, and now it is available to most of the world, Space travel will get there eventually. They literally pay to make it accessible to everyone else. The crazy amount of money she spent to do what she did, goes towards advancing this goal.

I find it crazy that people can't understand this

by Anonymous 1 day ago

It's almost a certainty that her or anyone else on that trip paid to be there. It was a publicity stunt paid for by Amazon. And from the moment the first commercial flight happened it was apparent the benefit that it could provide to every person. As of right now there's now reason or timeline for the average person to be able to go to space. The closest thing would be stratosphere travel for long distance flights but that's far from taking a rocket into space.

by Reid50 1 day ago

They don't do it for us. It's just a fun flight for her. Nonetheless, it helps make it accessible for everyone.

Found Bezos alt account.

I think it would be a fun experience but don't call yourself an astronaut. Space tourist. Also the woman empowerment stuff was annoying. True women astronauts have been going to space for 4 decades.

by No-Cattle-9783 1 day ago

Not to mention there were two actual astronauts on that little jaunt, and they've been completely overshadowed by the celebrity tourists.

by Sufficient-Radish 1 day ago

Honestly, there are other rich people doing far worse with their money so I couldn't care less about her little field trip.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

It seemed to me as if it was pre planned and not in any way a spontaneous response.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

People losing their minds over things that don't touch their lives; that's jealousy with boredom. Same energy as the outrage over Bezos' wedding. I don't spend my time obsessing over billionaires or celebrities, but hey, if keeping tabs on rich strangers brings you joy, knock yourself out.

by Justen78 1 day ago

The reaction was about a super rich pop star going into space on a billionaire's rocket and then boasting about it. It was a sickening waste of money and everything about it was in very poor taste. The optics were bad and the reaction showed that.

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I always felt I would've reacted the same way as her 😅

by Anonymous 1 day ago

I agree! They could have died and I would also be kissing the ground

by spinkanoel 1 day ago

She kissed the ground and she liked it

by Lisa30 1 day ago

My problem is that people acted like they where the first women in space.

by Fatima36 1 day ago

I never saw that.
